Houston Elects Gay MayorPosted on Dec 13, 2009
Thanks to Annise Parker’s victory in a runoff election Saturday, Houston will become the largest U.S. city to have an openly gay mayor. Parker was the target of anti-gay rhetoric but mobilized gay rights groups in her defense.

Robert, I live in Houston and voted for Ms. Parker. Her sexual orientation is a huge deal in one of the most conservative states of our Union and needs to be trumpeted as a sign that change without the hope-mantra is here.

Report thisproclivities reminds me of the story about Oscar Wilde. Some cruel soul made a point of telling his grandson how he had been sentenced to the Reading Gaol for the crime of sodomy.
