Zelaya, shown here in Costa Rica after his ouster, has been holed up in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa for months.

It may not be the end just yet for Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, ousted in a coup in June. Despite international support for his return to office, Zelaya was slated to leave his country for exile in Mexico. But those negotiations have now been postponed.

The Guardian:

Plans for ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya to leave for exile in Mexico are on hold, the interim government of Honduras has said.

Mr Zelaya was removed from power in June and forced into exile but later returned and took refuge in the Brazilian embassy in the capital.

I hope President Zelaya does not give up his noble fight to restore democracy to Honduras. I think him a real hero.

“Building Bridges” WBAI radio show, had a SCOOP interview with Zelaya last Monday evening, using as interpreter the same interpreter as used by DemocracyNow, who is in the embassy with Zelaya.
“Building Bridges” is archived on their own website, http://www.buildingbridgesradio.org as well as WBAI, which is online, free for 90days. http://www.wbai.org
NOTE: I support the “undo the coup” movement,
See http://www.takebackwbai.org  Mimi Rosenberg Esq. and Ken Nash, a labor librarian, host the show.  It’s a labor and community report.  I’m a longtime listener.
Mimi Rosenberg supports the “undo the coup” movement but is under the “gag rule” at the station.

The interview was good.  My favorite moment was when one of the interviewers asked Zelaya what he thought of Area’s (sic) endorsement of the election, was he surprised, and he answered,
“I invited him to visit Honduras and see for himself…”  Pols.
