Hillary Clinton Says She Won’t Re-Up as Secretary of StatePosted on Jan 27, 2012
Sorry, Ice-T, but while Hillary Clinton may in some circles be considered a “G,” she may not be up for the task of staying on the “high wire of American politics” much longer—at least not in her current position. Clinton reaffirmed on Thursday that she isn’t planning to stick around for another term as Obama’s secretary of state in the likely event that he is re-elected. What that means for her 2016 prospects, however, remains to be seen, and as she herself pointed out, “Everyone always says that when they leave these jobs.” —KA

Something is being missed here. Why did she need to make this announcement again? Could it be that she heard that “The Diary of Hillary Clinton’s Secret Campaign Consultant” was coming out on kindle and she wanted to drown out the bad news?
Also, who is stupid enough to believe her when she says she is not even watching the Republican debates? She’ll never run again? As a Democrat, I wish I could believe it.

As much as I would like to defer to The Ice Opinion, Hill-dog is not the kind of G that I believe we need either as secretary of state or president.
As much as I would like to say I am glad she is stepping down (which she said she would do years ago), I doubt Obama will appoint anyone better to replace her.
I hope she has a good cry (nothing wrong with that) when this saber-rattling and hypocritical human rights pronouncements and undermining of democracy abroad and double dealing and lying and such is all over.
As much as I would like to imagine her getting in to a better line of work, if you look at Bill-dog’s post-presidential Clinton foundation shenanigans and crappy advice and such, I doubt very much that will happen either.

Watch out for the Voodoo Ice!!!
Hill-dog went on her honeymoon in Haiti and look what happened there.
You need to educate yourself about Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Talk to Danny Glover or something.
Fuck that 1% bullshit and join the occupy crew.

Aquifer:
All good points. Re challenging O in a primary, that was really just a half-tongue-in-cheek aside. Re SOS, I think she would have accepted in any regard, since, if she IS thinking of running in 16, she now has four years of really deep foreign policy experience under her belt, to add to her 6 years as a Senator. That can never hurt. (And who knows what experience she will add in the next four years?)
Re Biden and 16, keep in mind that he will be 74 years old, while she will be five years younger. Personally, if O wins, I don’t think Biden will be interested in 16. And this would open the door for Hillary in a bigger way.

she’s got little to lose by making this comment, considering that everyone in the
cabinet is expected to offer their resignation at the conclusion of the term.
the idea that she might replace Biden is pretty much a non-starter and nowhere
Report thisnear as intriguing as the rumor that Hilary is angling to replace Michelle as First
Lady.

Maani,
Do you think her beating O in a primary would be considered any less “disastrous” than her as VP?
I was surprised to see her accept Sec of State to begin with - i think if she had known what a disaster O would be, she would have hung out in the Senate and challenged him this year. Now she is tied to his admin and its policies, she has no independent issues to run on. Maybe that is why she is leaving, so she can distance herself from him using this time to stamp out her own “agenda” but she will either have to embrace her record or live it down, tricky either way ...
Maybe she’ll try in ‘16, but she would have to challenge Biden, unless he has already vowed not to run. I think one of Hillary’s problems is that her timing has always been a bit off - I think her best chance would have been in ‘04 - she would have given Bush a better run than Kerry did ... In ‘08 she was too confident - never saw Obama coming ‘til it was too late ...

The idea of Hillary replacing Biden for Obama’s next run has been floated before. And while it would seem to make alot of sense in certain political ways, it would ultimately be disastrous: it would galvanize the right in a way that they have been unable to do thus far, even with Obama as a target.
I would like to see her accept an Obama nomination to the Supreme Court. (Although she has claimed she is not interested in that, she could certainly change her mind). Barring that, a run for POTUS in 2016 is certainly not out of the question. (In fact, it is conceivable that if she dared to challenge Obama, she might beat him in a primary…)
Peace.

Hmm, maybe she is being prepped to replace Biden as VP (especially if he can’t rein in his son, the NJ AG, in the bank investigation) good for the female vote, always good to have a hedge fund and the Clintons are, IMO, still big players in the party apparatus funding game ..
First female Pres? Got a MUCH better candidate for that -

Report thisfor POTUS in 2016. It is in the realm of possibilities that she could
