Supreme Court’s Health Care Ruling Nears: The most anticipated Supreme Court ruling since the turn of the 21st century is expected to be handed down Thursday when the court decides the fate of President Barack Obama’s health care reform law. CNN: “The stakes cannot be overstated—what the justices decide will have an immediate and long-term impact on all Americans, both in how they get medicine and health care, and also in vast, yet unknown areas of ‘commerce.’ ” (Read more

Romney “Responds” to SB 1070 Ruling: Mitt Romney probably has an opinion on the Supreme Court’s ruling on the controversial Arizona immigration law, but, as in most areas of policy, he’s keeping his thoughts to himself. Rather than clearly stating his position on the hot-button issue, Romney used Monday’s SCOTUS ruling to accuse President Obama of failing to lead on immigration. What he didn’t do is say whether or not he agreed with the ruling. It’s yet another immigration issue on which Romney is more rhetoric than substance. (Read more)

Sheriff Joe Opines on Arizona Immigration Decision: One person who was more than willing to share his opinion on the SB 1070 ruling was Joe Arpaio, the controversial sheriff of Maricopa County in Arizona. The high court’s ruling struck down three of the four provisions at issue. Here’s what Arpaio had to say: “I think this is a good section that’s been upheld. I would have liked to see where we would have the authority to arrest illegal aliens just by being here illegally and book them into our jails, but that’s not going to happen. But I think this sends a message that we will be involved in enforcing the illegal alien laws and our police officers will be able to at least try to determine if they’re in this country illegally.” (Read more)

Murdoch Takes a Verbal Shot at Romney: News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch took to Twitter to criticize Mitt Romney. Murdoch, who once offered a glowing endorsement of then presidential candidate Rick Santorum via the popular microblogging site, tweeted over the weekend: “When is Romney going to look like a challenger? Seems to play everything safe, make no news except burn off Hispanics.” (Read more)

Video of the Day: Looks as if Romney isn’t the only one trying to avoid answering the immigration question—his spokesman is too. Check out this video in which Rick Gorka is asked about his candidate’s position on the Arizona immigration and SCOTUS decision, and, well, he doesn’t exactly have an answer. Like candidate, like spokesman.
