Proposed Rules Could Hamper Patient ProtectionPosted on Sep 18, 2011
Last year’s health care reform law promised to address the problem of the hundreds of thousands of patients killed each year by professional error. Outside groups were to be allowed to analyze hospital conditions and publicly report on the quality of care. But new rules proposed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services would severely limit the release of Medicare billing records that would be used in the analysis. Consumer groups have criticized the proposed rules. Bruce Boissonnault, president and CEO of the Niagara Health Quality Coalition, a nonprofit that has independently measured the quality of health care since the mid-1990s, said the rules are overly complicated and intended to limit access to information mostly to industry insiders. “We will only see the scraps of information that the industry wants us to discuss,” he said. “It’s advertising wrapped in a lab coat.” Health care providers counter that billing data alone cannot be relied upon to indicate quality of care. It is unclear to this blogger exactly what Medicare’s billing data consists of and whether it would be sufficient to make judgments about quality. Still, it appears that someone wants to make it difficult for outside groups to access records. See the criteria for qualification below. —ARK

In the process of murder, the clever killer decides how they will cover up the crime before their intended victim dies.
The sloppy killer, doesn’t plan ahead. But decides how to dispose of the evidendce and the body, in the heat of the moement.
Congress, limited liability, but since that resulted, in mounting incompetance and death, rather than doing something about it they have decided to hide the body, and conceal the evidence of their crimes.
Can’t have the people understanding that medicine is gone. That the corporate crooks in health care, having nothing to offer but slick brochures, high premiums, then a see you later attitude.
Meanwhile the FDA can concentrate on outlawing supplements, and preventing people from getting needed health care information, they function to drive people toward their deaths at the hands of the healh care crooks..
Do the names Trasylol -22,000 deaths, and Bextra mean anything to you? How about Avandia, Viox, and on and on and on…
Meanwhile, they spend their time, trying to make Walnut growers, and Cherry Growers stop telling people how healthy their foods are, while alowing, the makers of Junk food, to make those claims…..
