Rep. Jane Harman will swap her seat in Congress for the top post at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Los Angeles’ own Rep. Jane Harman is gearing up to leave Capitol Hill in order to head up the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, according to reports that surfaced Monday. Her exit isn’t expected to change the composition of the House, as her district tends to favor Democratic candidates, and a special election will reportedly take place to fill her seat, according to The New York Times.

“The Caucus” in The New York Times:

Ms. Harman sought, after Democrats took control of the House in 2006, to become chairwoman of the Intelligence Committee, but she was blocked by another Californian, Representative Nancy Pelosi, who had become speaker of the House.

Ms. Harman has served two stints in Congress, from 1993 to 1999 and from 2001 until now.

Jane Harman often sold out her constituencies and was caught red handed for
spying. Chances are, she’s vacating her seat to make room for someone aspiring
to power in exchange for a prestigious post at the Wilson Center. Alas, the Wilson
Center has lost a lot of academic cachet and is visibly a shill for US corporate
interests.  It is now as it was then: to “make it” in politics, you either have to be a
crook or be willing to sleep with them, or both.

Are, as some have suggested, the parasites beginning to exit public office in the
soon to become a full fledged “banana republic” US of A?

And scholars still insist that one can learn from history.

The controversial (many would say scandalous) Jane
Harman is going to join the Wilson Center, which itself is mired in numerous scandals.

They deserve each other.

Given Ms. Hartman’s past record, I gather that she has been offered a better position with AIPAC.  Whatever it is, good riddance and let’s hope that Capitol’s heavy doors hit her ass on her way out.

She stood for what most in her party and in the GOP stood for.

Apparently she got Pelosi mad at her, but NOT over any policy differences.

Her husband was behind the deal to merge Newsweek and the Daily Beast. He might be “behind” Tina Brown, as well, or on top.

Good riddance to this the worst of those Members of Congress who would make the U.S. the bodyguard of the fundamentally evil Israel lobby.

May the door hit her in her big fat ass.

She should be in prison for treason.
