Et tu, Romney?: The once and (probably) future presidential contender didn’t slam Obama on his stance toward Egypt.

In case you were losing sleep wondering what Newt Gingrich thinks about President Obama’s handling of the Egyptian protests, well, he doesn’t approve. Nor does 2012 GOP all-star Mike Huckabee, but Mitt Romney is more supportive. And as for Sarah Palin? Uncharacteristic radio silence from the Twitter-happy Alaskan.  —KA

ABC News:

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the front-runner among likely candidates in the latest ABC News-Washington Post poll, was the latest to weigh in, criticizing Obama today for not more publicly supporting Mubarak, who has been a longtime U.S. ally.

“This would not have required us to approve everything he did, or deny the rights of the people of Egypt to demand a change of government,” Huckabee said in an interview with the Jerusalem Post. “But I think it would have been an important symbol to send to the rest of the world, that we don’t just walk away from long-standing allies.”

Some of Huckabee’s potential rivals have made clear they disagree, themselves casting Mubarak aside and suggesting the Obama administration do the same.

Well, why don’t they help Egypt build a strong democracy and then see what kind of respect and allies you ‘earn’.God,these Republicans talk out of both sides of thier mouths at the same time.Wasn’t Bush launching democracy in the middle east when he invaded Iraq or was that just more bullshit from the right.Does anybody send shrinks to the congress or senate to check for schizoprenia, because the rest of the world is hearing it on thier T.V.‘s everyday. Is it freedom of speech or freedom just to blabber on.

After the carnage we have wrought in the Middle East how can anyone expect them to remain our stauch allies? They get Fox news there too and with the destruction of Iraq and mobs of Americans being show marching and shouting anti-Islamic rhetoric echoed by right wing politicians, we really expect them to stand by and do nothing? How arrogant of mitt, huckabee and the whole war-mongering crowd.

The only difference between the Republicans and Obama is intellectual fraud and
color—both attributes of the"Black Bush” as he is now called in Egypt.

Huckabee is catering to his Israeli overlords.  He is not interested in American ideals or American interests.
