Nancy Pelosi’s days as speaker of the House could be numbered.

With just a week to go before the midterm elections, it’s looking like Republicans are in good shape to take control of the House of Representatives, and it’s a long shot but not completely impossible that they could win big in the Senate, according to Reuters.

Reuters:

A thirst for change in Washington and worries about the stumbling economy appear likely next Tuesday to break Obama’s Democrats’ grip on Congress in a potential rout that would topple House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from power.

With more than 90 Democratic-held seats at risk on Nov. 2 in the 435-member House, independent analysts project Republicans will pick up at least the 39 Democratic seats they need for control.

I think we may be missing the real problem in American politics. The problem is greed. But I do not begrudge an individual who works hard and figures a way to make good money. I do not begrudge corporations who started small and through hard work built prosperity through ingenuity. I do begrudge a government who allows corporations to basically pay no taxes after using countless loopholes. I begrudge a government who pays large farmers to not farm; even giving them more to not farm than many hard working Americans make in a year. But these problems are insignificant when thinking of the trillions of dollars worth of debt we are gathering. I think there are more similarities between Busch and Obama than what most of us want to look into.

Media should refuse to print this type of hype/propaganda.  The election is not
over until the last voter votes.  A continual publication by media that the
republicans are winning is a great disservice, including such publications from
blog sites.  And, its end result will simply garner more votes for the republican
candidates.

The difference between Democrat and Republican fades in proportion with the length one spends in congress.

Fear not, for this is all part of Barry’s master plan. He sees now that his middle of the road corp agenda (repug lite) has been an abject failure. So now his only hope for 2012 is to play that old dimmo game of capitulating to the repugs (for two years) and hope that he can once again pin the blame for america’s downfall on the conservatives. Of course, by then it could be too late. Two more years of this horrible economy, mixed with the radicalization of america’s politics even further (all funded by big business)and it may not matter who is in the white house or senate, or congress for that matter.

This is what happens when gutless dimmos take corporate money by the truckload. The death of liberalism and the rise of the coporate state. Anybody know how to play “Rollerball?”

Real progressive change comes through protests, strikes and movements, Not voting. And especially Not through voting for the pro-corporation, luke-warm Democrats

couldnt agree with these comments more, she is horrible, hope she becomes a back
bencher like Hastert she is as big a weasel. Just so we get to see that photo before she
gets her golden chute>

Here is a little blurb on Hastert just so we get a sense of what to expect from Pelosi.

“As ex-speaker, Hastert has spent more than $1 million on his office space and staff from
2008 to 2010. This included annual salaries of more than $100,000 each for three staff
members.[16] Each month, taxpayers provide $40,000 worth of office space, cell phones,
staff, and an SUV for former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who currently works as a
lobbyist for private corporations and foreign governments.[17]”

Awesome.

Democrats are a Corporatist joke. Obama needs to do his duty and veto offensive Repuglican legislation.  That is the only “Hope” to be reasonably expected out of this hypocrite.

It absolutely makes me sick the way we’re being led to
believe this election is a mere formality. That the
right is going to be taking over the house and that’s
that. The fact is, it’s not 1994 this time. It doesn’t
have to be this way. The teabaggers can shout all they
want, but if reasonable people outnumber them AT THE
POLLS ON ELECTION DAY then they’re nothing but a bunch
of crybabies. The very real option still exists of
Democrats showing up en masse on Election Day and
shutting these people up.

Pelosi and Reid will BOTH be happy to be replaced, since both realize that they
are completely unequipped to be leaders.

Reid is a “member of the crowd” with nothing to add to any discussion taking
place at any time in his life except, “Yeah, I agree”

Pelosi reached the top level of her own competence when she was “the MC from
San Francisco” who held lah-dee-dah cocktail parties for this or that bourgeois
liberal “cause”.

Neither did anything that genuinely challenged the status quo or even asked a
serious question about it, because ... both are part of it, and happily so.

Pelosi is 5’2” tall, and Reid is 5’10” tall, but ... the problem is ... they’re standing
in 6’ of water.

Both were cheerleaders for George Bush (and now deny it, unsuccessfully), but I guess that is another subject.

After nearly 4 years of inaction, corporate toadying, and disunity, the
Democrats richly deserve the heave-ho they are about to receive.  As long
as people on the left continue to support Democrats, we will continue to
seesaw between two corporate-controlled parties that support the same
anti-people agenda.

It’s well known that democracy & technology shape the future of a nation.
Let’s give Democrats a chance to make headway.
?
The former President Bill Clinton said “It took me four years to balance the budget, then I gave you four surpluses, paid $600 billion down on the national debt,”

And I’d say :  It took 8 years for the Bush mishandling to get a final verdict.
Let’s not fall for the outrageous claim : Heal the 8 year-long chronic disease quickly, but do not see a doctor, adding to the deficit.
?
I do believe strongly that the nope or tea party, the insane group, are set to wreck a havoc on America.

It’s the economy, stupid. And the economy is NOT Wall St. it’s Main St,
stupid!

The Democrats, by their mishandling of TARP, the Too Small economic
stimulus package, etc, etc have caused their own downfall.

And by squandering his political capital on bipartisanship BS, instead of
jobs, Obama has also set-up his own loss in 2012.

leave and allow us some breathing room from his treacherous and traitorous
behavior or will he continue as a lobbyist for the captains of industry.
