In case Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was the only person on the planet to not know that his performance in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 19 was less than spectacular, on Wednesday Sens. Arlen Specter and Patrick Leahy helpfully served him a letter full of constructive criticism, and a mandate that he provide more information “within a week.”

talkingpointsmemo.com posted a copy of the letter:

“You spent weeks preparing for the April 19th hearing.  Yet during your testimony, in response to questions from Senators on both sides of the aisle, you often responded that you could not recall.  By some counts you failed to answer more than 100 questions, by other counts more than 70, but the most conservative count had you failing to provide answers well over 60 times.”

Gonzales sounded more like a member of the Mafia than Attorney General of the United States.

I was surprised he didn’t invoke his Fifth Amendment rights.

And bu$h, he thought his buddy performed very well!

Attorney General Gonzales should not be allowed to rest on his…laurels.  If George Bush is smart (what am I saying?) he’ll show Alberto out the door and hand him the “Medal of Freedom” as he leaves.

How many more times do they want to hear “I don’t remember or I can’t recall”. Are these committees living the definition of insanity or what. Impeach the asshole and be done with it.

No surprise at all because MOST of Bush/Cheney servants are at the same caliber and this was a reason why this damned administration’s policies have been aborted at the very first days.
