Palestinian medics carry the body of a child who, according to Palestinian medical sources, was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza during the war in early 2009.

A year after the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, divisions between factions within Israel are deepening. One right-wing group has launched a public campaign targeting domestic human rights organizations that assisted U.N. officials investigating Israeli war crimes, accusing them of, wait for it ... treason. —JCL

The Voice of America:

A year after Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip, fallout from the war is deepening political divisions in the Jewish state. The three-week conflict claimed the lives of 1,400 Palestinians, according to Arab accounts, and 13 Israelis.

A right-wing Israeli advocacy group has ignited a storm with a public campaign targeting an Israeli human rights organization that assisted United Nations officials investigating the Gaza War.

The U.N.’s subsequent Goldstone Report accused Israel of war crimes in Gaza, prompting outrage in Israel. The popular view among Israelis is that the nation was acting in legitimate self-defense in response to years of Palestinian rocket attacks from Gaza.

If the Israeli hate mongers want Israel to be vindicated, all they have to do is allow the Goldstone charges to be tried. The evidence is so clear and overwhelming that there could be only one conclusion.

An easier war crime to prosecute is the blockade of Gaza. The Fourth Geneva Convention declares collective punishment of civilians a war crime. This blockade has been going on for over 2 1/2 years. It’s a war crime and a moral outrage.

Governments won’t solve this. The people need to stop $7 million a day to the Israeli military paid for by U.S. taxpayers. Then Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel and any company or individual that profits from illegal occupation. Magnavos, Caterpillar, Starbucks and product made in Israel are good starting points.
