For Whom the City of Bell TollsPosted on Sep 21, 2010

The small Los Angeles suburb gained national notoriety as a poster town for bureaucratic corruption, and authorities wasted no time investigating and arresting the alleged nest featherers.

I despise these guys of course, but for weeks NPR & KPCC & KCRW have been telling us their contracts with City of Bell are airtight and legit, however wrongheaded & evil they might be. I’m uneasy with prosecutions made to please torch-bearing mobs.
I also haven’t heard anyone persuasively refute Robert Rizzo’s claim that his compensation was contractually tied to the amount he saved the city. The argument that deserves a fair hearing.
