U.S. Department of Justice

Attorney General Eric Holder has announced the possibility of a second federal suit against Arizona’s SB 1070.

As Arizona and the rest of the nation prepare for the state’s controversial anti-immigration SB 1070 bill to go into effect, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has suggested that the federal government may file yet another suit against the beleaguered state “if the U.S. believes racial profiling is taking place.”

The existing suit, filed by the federal government on constitutional grounds, may delay the legislation’s implementation, originally set for July 29. A second suit would focus on the issue of racial profiling if the state manages to implement the law in the face of the federal challenge. —JCL

Los Angeles Times:

Atty. Gen. Eric Holder, the nation’s top law enforcement officer, said Sunday he might sue Arizona a second time if he finds its tough-on-illegal-immigrants law leads to racial profiling.

Holder, speaking on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” said the federal government’s lawsuit against Arizona, filed last week, makes scant mention of racial profiling because a stronger argument against the law is that it preempts the federal government’s responsibility in deciding immigration policies.

The law requires law enforcement officers with a suspicion that a person is not a legal resident to ask questions and take the person into custody if the person cannot prove he or she is a legal resident.

DISGUSTING! I left the DEMOCRITIC party today. I am appalled by everything the party does today. They are LYING turncoats on every level. Like the RepubliCons, they have succeeded in doing what the Bilderberg Group and criminal corporations tell them to do. I sincerely hope the American people disband the failed and criminal 2 party system and elect a real leader that will represent us and support the US constitution. I like Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, and others who “get it” and care enough to really change it. Problem is the fraudulent media will not allow them the time to gain some tracking power.

Eric Holder Obama`s Roomate in school,
is a HALF-WHIT.
He doesn`t read the Bills,
admitted to making opinions without reading
and yet, He knows? What?
Without reading the Bill,
One could only have half the information,
making decisions on half the information,
makes you a Half WHITT.
One who doesn`t really know the full scope.
A fool who knows He is A fool, is better off, but a fool who doesn`t know is truly the FOOL.

Commune115 is absolutely on point.  Holder refused to pursue charges against
former President Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld for their illicit wars, no bid
contracts, and other alleged wrongs.  Yet, Holder is very quick to charge Arizona.
Obama has lost his presidency.

It’s all politics and posturing.

As was already posted the Justice Department has no credibility while it hides abuses from previous administrations, blocks investigations of torture, illegal renditions and extra-judicial killings and more.

Arizona has made so-called immigrant’s rights groups across the nation (and beyond) furious! .. not so much from the specifics of the new law itself but because it defines and puts in the news a desire by the voters of Arizona to in some way reduce illegal immigration… and they’ve made some serious hate-groups happy for what they erroneously think is in the law (open season on illegals).

Personally, while I’m not immune to the issues of fairness and race and so-on that are inherent in enforcing immigration laws.. I’d like to see people not directly affected by the reality of illegal immigration to simply stop blathering about it. And including the liberal-progressive mob crying racism and ‘oh the humanity’.. it’s not helpful and obfuscates the real issues of how uncontrolled and illegal immigration affects our quality of life. Same goes for the real nut-case racist right-wingers.. shut yer yaps.

As an interesting aside that may explain some of the Progressive mouthpieces directing the (cheap seats) stadium-wave against controlling illegal entry into our nation.. I was taken aback by what I think I read in Mr. Scheer’s remarks in his recent China Chat online. Him being a prominent Progressive and all.. Apparently he’s actually a laissez-faire capitalist.. ??

He states America has no right to expect anything from the near future in the world other than a re-run of the past century of exploitation.. India and China are the promised lands running with milk and honey (and soon tens of millions of more automobiles)! so what for the child labor, enormous pollution and repression.. Suck it up people, America is underpopulated (bring in more people).. and under worked.. though he also seems to hold rural, working people in contempt or perhaps just pity them.. can’t say all that would fly at either the Blue or Red convention.. Maybe there is a place for a third party.

I don’t sign up for Progressive causes and organizations (or the NRA either!) because of this kind of foolishness.. The box looks great from the outside.. but there’s a lot more going on than just what’s advertised in the big print.

Adios.

Apparently the Obama White House acts quickly to sue other states but not George Bush or Dick Cheney for their war crimes? Oh wait, Obama is continuing them! As for the second suit, this is nuts in terms of votes, Obama seems hellbent on getting kicked out in 2012.

call me Roy

The RI program is participating in a federal program (Immigration and Nationality Act Section 287(g)). The federal government can not sue itself.
