Trayvon Martin, 17, was shot to death in a gated residential community in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is officially involved in the Trayvon Martin case, conducting its own inquiry into the Feb. 26 killing of the teenager in Sanford, Fla., to determine, for one, whether shooter George Zimmerman zeroed in on Martin for any racially motivated reasons.  —KA

MSNBC:

Although the Justice Department two weeks ago publicly announced it would examine potential civil rights violations, the arrival of bureau agents represents a new phase in inquiries into the case.

A senior law enforcement official confirmed that one potential piece of evidence is records of Zimmerman’s prior 911 calls to police dispatchers.

Before pontificating nincompoops and ignoramuses do yet more violence to Trayvon Martin by trashing the very law that is his own best defense they should go READ it before making complete fools of themselves. It’s easy enough for a 17-year-old to understand.

We have all read much about this horrid incident but almost none of it contributes to the most important questions as to this law and law enforcement. The following at Open Salon may be helpful to sort out what everyone seems to be missing: This law is Trayvon Martin’s defense and George Zimmerman’s indictment and and at least one of the Martin family attorneys agrees!  Do yourself a big favor and see:

“Martin v. Zimmerman: Everything You ‘Know’About SYG is Wrong” at http://open.salon.com/blog/f_arouete/2012/04/01/martin_v_zimmerman_everything_you_knowabout_syg_is_wrong

and for a more detailed expose see “Trayvon Martin: Defense a Pig-Sty Beneath a Racist Facade?” at http://open.salon.com/blog/f_arouete/2012/03/24/trayvon_martin_defense_a_pig-sty_beneath_a_racist_facade

For everyone’s information in an “IMPORTANT UPDATE” comment to those links provided it is stated,

“I just got an email from the attorney for Travon’s parents. It might not be appropriate to mention her name—you can sleuth that out for yourself. I passed her the links for the two posts I wrote and she just wrote back,

“Thank you. Your blog is very well written and thought out…I agree with your analysis.”

“So pass it around please. This is the analysis their legal counsel want’s to get out. Please help deliver the message.”

People who go around pontificating on the law should at least have the integrity to do read the dammed thing and apply it’s plain language to the facts as we know them. No one who has taken even five Minutes to read this simply-worded statute could possibly concluded it’s a defense for Zimmerman for the only person who can assert this defense is Trayvon Martin.

Anyone who trashes this law trashes Trayvon’s best defense and does him one more ignorant violence. There can be no excuse for this cavalcade of ignorance.

I feel that one of the most obvious points has not been covered in the case of Martin vs Zimmerman.

One of the most obvious facts is that Zimmerman called the cops saying in his opinion there was a young black man acting suspicious. He was asked by the cops if he was following Martin and Zimmerman and that he was to stop following Martin, that the police would take care of the situation.

So the question that should be foremost in my opinion is “how could there have been a confrontation unless it was Zimmerman ignoring the Police and continuing his stalking of Martin?” If Zimmerman precepitated a physical response from Martin after the police had told him not to continue to follow Martin, then it was Zimmerman who was responsible as an Adult to use better judgement.

To date there is no action by Martin that could be identified as suspicious beyond his being Young, Black and in a predominately white neighborhood.

As to Zimmerman being “Neighborhood Watch Captain” the key to that is “Watch”, he was not supposed to be apprehending people who were doing nothing more than walking. He had already been told to desist in his survelance of Martin. And, another thought is that Zimmerman is mostly presented as a self-appointed Watch Captain, which would seem to say that he did not have wide community support to do what he did.

It doesn’t matter that Zimmerman may have viewed himself as defending the neighborhood. He made a false assumption about a young man and then compounded it by confronting and killing the young man, when since it was Zimmerman that was the aggressor, it is Zimmerman who was in the wrong. Charges and trial are in order and up to prosecutor if it should be Man Slaughter or Aggravated Murder.

The government is wading into politically correct waters here - it gives Obama a chance to rebond with the homeys whom he abandoned with his higher than whites unemployment and it distracts people away from the fact that he is not fixing the economy.

To understand the Trayvon Martin vs. George Zimmerman
case, you need to listen to the recorded phone call
made by the neighbor to 911.
The fatal shot is heard during this call.
Merely listen to it.
Then draw your own conclusions.
No need for experts.  No need for pundits.  No need
even for an open mind.
Just listen to the haunting call.
A transcript won’t do.  It must be heard.

No one will win from this tragedy.  Justice for Trayvon
Martin’s family means an examination and broadcast of
the minor indiscretions of a typical teen and the
demonizing of Zimmerman as a race-fueled psychopath
reflective of just how much whites and Latinos hate
backs.  The media is going to destroy everyone involved
with slander and misleading lies in order to jump in
full force in this cash cow of a story.

Yes, good point, gerard.  May I also respectfully suggest that the federal government investigate why Zimmerman STILL isn’t arrested and charged, and now, with evidence that he greatly lied to police.

While the FBI is “launching a parallel investigation” into the Trayvon Martin murder, may I respectfully suggest that they launch a “parallel investigation” into their own\
excessive “surveillance” tactics, and relate it to the obvious parallel of Zimmerman’s excessive
suspiciousness and self-appointed fear-mongering which is very likely ruining a number of other innoent lives—the inevitable “collateral damage” that is tearing the nation apart.
