Eric Massa’s ‘Glenn Beck’ Moment Bears Strange Fruit

Beck and Massa
foxnews.com

If former Rep. Eric Massa hoped he’d get a post-resignation PR boost from his guest spot on Glenn Beck’s Fox News show Tuesday, he made some bad choices in his quest for support. Those included his selection of venue and his whimsical approach to clearing up the sexual harassment issue that played a key part in his strange, memorable exit from office. Turns out it took more than a mutual dislike for Rahm Emanuel to make things click between Beck and Massa, to say the least.  —KA

The Washington Post:

But Beck was unimpressed. He didn’t understand why Massa, if he had truly been wronged by the White House and Democratic leaders, would resign rather than stay and fight. “Bullcrap, sir,” Beck said of Massa’s explanation.

It deteriorated from there. Massa suggested that Beck “stop calling fellow Americans names . . . socialist, communist, whatever the case may be.” He also told the conservative audience: “You can’t show up at a ‘tea party’ rally and claim that the entire budget deficit happened this year.”

And Massa had nothing to support his hints that Democratic leaders had made corrupt bargains and used thuggish tactics. “Name names,” Beck pleaded. “Show us where to throw the dirt.”

But no matter how many times he was asked—Anything new? Actionable stuff? “Anything specific?—Massa came up empty. “I don’t know how to be specific,” he said.

Walkabout, I assume you are a Patriot.  Do you really think Beck would have supported our own Revolutionary War?  Weenies who side with power sided with the British.

Also he works for that foreign owned corporation, Fox.  Murdoch is an Australian who spent most of his life in England, which is where his loyalty is.

Wow…Beck called a recession in 2007….what an amazing guy given most were calling for one 2 years earlier.  Yeah…I’ll listen to Beck…lol.

Genius I tell you genius!

Beck is racist white douche-bag….nothing less.  He’s a cancer to society that needs to be removed from the equation.

It seems clear that Massa was simply “rough-housing” with his staff.  This was poor judgement but far from sexual groping.

It’s disgusting that the Obama/Rahm forces would use this to not only negate his vote but to destroy his reputation.  We see their true face.

Wasted Glenn Beck’s time.  Naw, I’[m listening to him right now.  We’ve learned something about the political culture.  Oh my, we might now vote according to what we learned about certain organizations.

Whatever vampire dude, such a cool name.  November 2007 Glenn Beck said a recession was coming.  His news & commentary are pretty good.  Keep Drinking the kool aid.  Oh & vote for General Wesley Clarke when he runs for president again as a Dem.  Ever wonder why he left his command during the Clinton era?  Money or sex. Figure it out.

In the show’s waning minutes, Beck surrendered. “America, I’ve got to shoot straight with you,” he said, looking into the camera. “I think I’ve wasted your time. I think this is the first time I have wasted an hour of your time, and I apologize for that.”

Actually no Mr. Beck, this isn’t the first time you’ve wasted an hour of your viewers time.  You do it quite regularly actually.

I’m glad he wasted 48 minutes or so of Glenn Beck’s time. I am, however, so very disappointed Glenn Beck didn’t cry when he apologized to America.

To see the name “Strange Fruit”, a Billie Holliday song about the lynching of
African Americans in a headline…I doubt it was accidental. I doubt the ethics
probe on Massa was accidental either.

He was planning to vote against the health care bill, and is getting punished for it.
I could have used an uglier word for it.
