Going Home: Hillary Clinton is out of the hospital after treatment for a blood clot near her brain, the State Department said Wednesday. Clinton had been in New York-Presbyterian Hospital since Sunday, when doctors discovered the clot while doing a follow-up exam related to a concussion the secretary of state sustained in December. Doctors “are confident she will make a full recovery,” her spokesman said. (Read more)

GOP Infighting: Some House Republicans on Wednesday were angered after their own party pulled the plug on emergency bills that would have provided more disaster aid to areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy. After the outcry, Republican leadership decided to move the votes to a different day. The House will vote on a $9 billion Hurricane Sandy aid bill Friday, while a $51 billion aid package will come to a vote Jan. 15. (Read more

Save Your Pennies: Rep. Peter King, a Republican from New York, was so livid when his party initially shelved the Sandy aid bill that he encouraged would-be-donors from his state to not send any money the House GOP’s way. King told Fox News: “These Republicans have no problem finding New York when they’re out raising millions of dollars. They’re in New York all the time filling their pockets with money from New Yorkers. I’m saying right now, anyone from New York or New Jersey who contributes one penny to congressional Republicans is out of their minds. Because what they did last night was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans. It was an absolute disgrace.” (Read more)

Bitter Twitter: Donald Trump sure likes to use Twitter when he’s angry. And make no mistake about it: The billionaire business mogul was upset at congressional GOP members over the fiscal cliff deal. Trump criticized the party after the New Year’s Day agreement was reached, calling Republicans “the worst negotiators in history.” He also tweeted that “Obama and the Democrats are laughing at the deal they just made ... the Republicans got nothing!” Compared with his election night tirade, this one was downright tame for the reality television host. (Read more)

Tough Talks: The fight between Democrats and Republicans over the fiscal cliff deal was heated, to say the least. But things really came to a boil Friday when, according to Politico, House Speaker John Boehner spotted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the White House lobby and told him to go fuck himself. “What are you talking about?” Reid responded? “Go fuck yourself,” Boehner repeated. Yes, this evidently is the level political discourse has reached in Congress. (Read more

December Dangers: The War on Christmas? That’s so 2012. In case you missed it, Wisconsin state Sen. Glenn Grothman, a Republican, has declared a war on Kwanzaa. Late last week, he wrote in a press release that the holiday is nothing more than an evil left-wing plot to divide and destroy America. From the release: “Irresponsible public school districts such as Green Bay and Madison ... try to tell a new generation that blacks have a separate holiday than Christians. ... But why do they do it? They don’t like America and seek to destroy it by pretending that its values as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, don’t apply to everyone. ... Be on the lookout if a K-12 or college teacher tries to tell your children or grandchildren it’s a real holiday.” As Gawker put it: “You know, as opposed to that Real Holiday in which the guy from the North Pole brings everyone in the world gifts to celebrate the time the virgin gave birth to God’s son.” (Read more)

Video of the Day: Peter King wasn’t the only one who unloaded on Republicans—watch below as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie castigated his own party after House GOP leaders shelved the bill.
