‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Back in EffectPosted on Oct 20, 2010
On Wednesday, the Obama administration succeeded in its mission of reinstating the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy regarding gays and lesbians among its ranks. As the San Francisco Chronicle reported that afternoon, the 9th Circuit Court suspended U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips’ order to stop all DADT-related activities worldwide, giving the circuit court until at least Monday to look into the administration’s appeal.

In a way I’m happy about this just because it will help open the eyes of yet more zombies still convinced Obama will eventually transform into Jesus.

“Republican judge” seems like an oxymoron.

The argument that Obama could have not just voted “present” (there’s certainly precedent for that) and just allowed DADT to die—under the court order is—of course, nonsense.
Obama’s stated rationale is that he wants Congress to change the law. He knows full-well that there is no chance of that under the party of collaborators who call themselves Vichy (Dems) and even less chance under Berlin (the R’s).
His rhetoric aside, actions speak louder than words. Obama has had no more commitment to rescinding DADT than he had to Main Street.
Or “Change.” He has more commitment to Karzai.
Sorry Glider, but the Greens in WA State didn’t even have a Senate candidate. A fourth grader could have developed a better website.
I just voted the initiatives. Didn’t vote for Berlin, of course, but I also didn’t vote for anyone sympathizing with the party of collaborators (Vichy).
Mailed the ballot yesterday. Felt tolerable, which is to say that at least I didn’t feel like vomiting afterward.

Well, DADT should be inforced until the survey is completed and recomendations are made. The reality is that the Military does not operate like a Democracy and it shouldn’t. Generals and Admirals and on down the ladder are not elected to serve, by a constituency. Todays Military are volunteers and their advancemet is mostly dictated by merit. Except ofcourse if you are a John McCain..
It would be wise and prudent to all those advocates of openly gay millitary service to consider that they are not the ones who are serving where the pavement meets the road. One more thing, the only exposure to the issue that Americans see is the Dog and Pony Show promoted by left leaning media. (just saying)
