America’s gaudiest billionaire told a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Committee that he is considering a run for the White House, which, if elected, he will surely paint gold.

The New York Times:

Donald Trump wanted the crowd of activists at the Conservative Political Action Committee to know just who he thinks has the skills, smarts and guts to be president: Donald Trump, of course.

The billionaire real estate mogul will decide by June if he runs for president, he said Thursday as he swept into this conference as a last-minute addition to the roster of possible 2012 Republican hopefuls.

What’s he going to do? Pay off Ronald Reagan’s 4 point something high, G.w. Bush’s 5 point and counting higher deficits with “DADDY’S MONEY??” Don’t kid yourself, he be spending money borrowed from China to get the country where the R. Reagan’s Rethugli-cons want it, dirt poor like Mexico, and all countries south thereof(except Columbia’s fertile, rich, drug crops,U.S. subsidized). The middle class will join the extinct species group and all the “den of thieves fraternity”(GOP) will live happily ever after.

I say, not without a bloody fight.

Trump really would like to be president. He would fast claim the
throne of hugh hefner with more beautiful women and big sacks
of money and viagra, all on the taxpayer’s tab. Not a dem or
repub to touch him cause they would all want to get into that
incredible harem to experience that 24/7 orgasm.

If the GOP is looking for star appeal, why don’t they talk Bullwinkle the Moose into running.I think he could definately give Trump and Palin a run for thier money. And probably not stick his hoof in his mouth as oftern too.

Laugh all you want, but Mr. Trump is right about one thing, this country is a laughing
stock. A whipping boy to the rest of the world.

And who did it? Who sold out this country, sent all our jobs over seas, sold our
technology to the PRC?

It was the polichickens in Washington and their corporate masters. The so called
Conartist-conservatives and Demoncrats.

Made themselves a fortune on K street by turning their own people out in the street.

Trump has said this before every presidential election going back to the 80s. Its just hype.

This is a good book on how he got to where he is, its a bit dated but still worth reading.

I like it. Big Corporation ruling with its real face a Trump imperialist - gonna make people respect America - like the local Mafia breaking a few legs - increase its street cred.
It’s perfect and honest.
He’s such a greedy self-centered jackass - the rabid capitalist -  the poster boy for American values. He might even make it on the ballot and if Americans vote him in - they deserve everything they get - and respect ain’t going to be it.

The “laughing-stock” comment deserves a response:

A couple of things:

1) In the big scheme of things, most of the world doesn’t spend much time thinking about the U.S. Certainly, there are countries in which our “empire” has caused a lot of suffering, death and mistrust. They think of us every day (not as laughing-stocks I assure you). But, people like Trump must think that my Italian relatives (or other people) get up in the morning, have a cappuccino and talk about what’s going on here in the states…......they don’t.
2) The fact is, the rest of the world will think even less about us once S. America, China, E. Europe and yes, even Africa begin to grow their economies and prosper. The “brand” called the American Dream is quickly being reduced to nothing more than a stupid parody of itself….and the chief clown, bobble-head spokesman for that “phoney dream” is none other than Donny himself.

Man, truthdig needs a more functional website. We need to be able to reply to
comments. Most are spot on. Taikin’s point is an example. I suspect this man’s hair is a
metaphor for his wealth. Gaudy and probably well over stated. The man is supremely
arrogant as well. President? Total joke. If Bloomberg won’t venture it, Trump should take
note.

Well now.  Wouldn’t Hairball be just the perfect complementary leader for our casino capitalist state.

Hey, he could pardon Madoff and put him in charge of Social Security and we could probably get an extra ten years out of it.

All joking aside, how many other Truthdiggers just threw up a little in their mouths when they saw this post on Humpty Trumpty?

hello. the Trumpster is another silver spooner,
dedicated to coaxing investors into sweet deals, only
to leave them holding the bag- a second generation
daddy’s money con artist. big egos are serenaded in
politics, because fleecing them is like taking candy
from a baby (Meg Whitman, Ross Perot, etc.). give the
political machine bags of your money, they will
worship you: and you need the adulation. Mr. Trump
boosted his first big lie, feeling challenged by a
straight shooter- Ron Paul. he would have said Ron
Paul doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Miami, if
the toupee wasn’t robbing his brain cells from
desperately needed solar energy. instead, the gay
rights sponsors had him declare, with convincing tone
of corporate lieyering, that Ron Paul doesn’t have a
chance. they got what they paid for, and he
positioned himself as the globalist, willing to say
whatever it takes to do the job, and protect the
bottom line. he wants to slip into position as big
leader, without disrupting the machine; like we want
more of the same. only an imbecile would see an
opportunity to replace a weak, internationally
incompetent, unqualified leader; by running the same
image as the one he would be replacing. he must be
convinced it is skin color. even a moron knows enough
to campaign opposite agendas, until you wake up in
the big house. then you just do what they say, and
the people be damned. you began your courtship with
the voters by polarizing them, and the globalists
will now never be convinced you are able to sell
their agenda to the public; therefore, Mr. Donald,
you have the political life expectancy of a blowfish
out of water. you have hands full of main stream
other peoples money connections, so make a reality
show; and enjoy editing politics- so much that it
takes days of footage, to get 15 minutes of politics:
that can be shown to the public. sponsored by tally
buns: a sugary explosion that you can lose your head
over.

Regarding your description of Trump as the “world’s gaudiest billionaire,” have you ever seen any evidence Trump actually has a net worth that even comes close to $1 billion?

Trump’s description of himself as a billionaire is one of the better hoaxes that he has perpetrated.
