Dolphins GM Apologizes for Prostitute QuestionPosted on Apr 28, 2010
Miami Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland has apologized to NFL draftee Dez Bryant for asking the footballer if his mother was a prostitute. Bryant said he was “really mad,” but didn’t say anything at the time to his prospective employer. Bryant was taken 24th overall by the Dallas Cowboys. Ireland asked him the question several weeks ago in a pre-draft interview. Bryant’s mother, Angela, is gay and her personal life has already generated more attention than is warranted for merely being the mother of someone who’s looking for a job.

“Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will “take appropriate actions if necessary” against general manager Jeff Ireland for asking former Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant whether his mother was ever a prostitute.”
If necessary? What, I wonder, does the occupation or the sexual orientation of a man’s mother have to do with his ability to play football?
Was Ireland looking for a date?
