Surgery Suggests Cheney Could Be Running Out of Juice

Posted on Jul 14, 2010
World Economic Forum

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has revealed that he had surgery last week to have a pump implanted in his heart. Cheney has survived five heart attacks. Implantation of the device, known as a “bridge to transplant,” points to serious medical trouble, Reuters reports.

LVADs help maintain the pumping ability of a heart that cannot work effectively on its own. They are usually implanted only in patients with severe heart failure and are nicknamed a “bridge to transplant,” according to the American Heart Association.

Congestive heart failure is a chronic condition that develops as the heart loses its ability to pump properly and gradually enlarges.

I don’t know, I think, and here I would give the poor sucker
cheney duped into a hunting ‘accident’, a chance of placing a
broadheaded arrow into to old dickies’ chest(3 chances) at 15
yards to see if the old dick could pull it out before he expired. It
would be vastly more humane that what dick the shit has done
to more than a million people the world over; include little w,
ricerroni, rumdrunkfeld, kkkrove, and just the whole goddamn
administration along with the 5 federalist judges that appointed

First of all you basically answered the question of
imperialism by your own accord .Secondly I was never
conflating Dick with Stalin and the other members of
his league .If I were to group Dick with others of his coterie ,Tony Blair ,Madelaine Albright and W would definately fall within this group of dubious
characters.Your last question of basically who killed who is like stating whether Hitler actually
placed the zyklon b tablets in the chambers.

The following post states no facts or opinions:

I missed your definition of “imperialism” in your reply. Can you show how many people Cheney personally had ordered killed, a la Stalin or Mao, or Pol Pot?

The previous post gives no hint of ideological bent.

Nah, we didn’t even get that right.  Screwed the oil pooch, too.

“Iraq is abandoning the United States in favor of closer ties with Iran,” observed Robert Dreyfuss of The Nation.

“The clearest sign of the lack of U.S. influence in Iraq is that oil contracts, once seen as a great prize for the U.S. occupiers of Iraq … have gone not to U.S. firms but to rival firms from China, Russia and other Asian and European companies.”

Plenty of other sources on this, but this one was most convenient:

What are you talking about stormboy? Cheney gave a speech in London in the nineties in which he flatly stated that America would have to get control of the world’s resources to remain a superpower. He included the helpful information that since 2/3 of the world’s oil was in the Middle East this was ‘the ultimate prize’ his words not mine. And have you not noticed that America and the corporations now have control of the oil and America has established 100 permanent military bases in Iraq and a US embassy which for size and vulgarity rivals any of Saddam’s palaces? Cheney was suckered into nothing: he suckered the congress and the American public and he was poring over Iraq’s oil maps in February 2001 and already discussing who they would replace Saddam with. Iraq has not been handed over to Iran: Iraq is now an American colony with a puppet government, just the way Dick and Sanyo and Microsoft and the oil corporations always planned. Cheney’s a despicable creature but don’t worry: all that money he’s spent his miserable life accumulating won’t fit in his coffin and they have a different currency in hell. He epitomises what Shakespeare wrote about Julius Caesar, ‘The evil that men do lives after them. The good is oft interred with their bones.’ There won’t be much to inter with his bones, though.

Dude, I think that’s his real outfit.

Hate?  Why hate the guy who turned the MMS into a scumpit of oil industry prostitutes, thereby allowing the rig operators to write their own inspection reports (in pencil), take a pass on a $500,000 acoustical switch that likely would have sealed the thing, no backup relief wells in advance (as required by Canada and other nations)... 11 workers murdered (by negligence), the Gulf is decimated, entire species are threatened, countless marine fish and mammals murdered (by negligence), ecosystem wrecked for our lifetime, a fishing industry and the fish, gone, the beaches (along which I grew up) toxified…

Only statement Cheney has on the matter is, of course, it’s OB’s fault, for the slow response.

Oh, then there’s that whole thing about fraudulent wars, tens (or hundreds) of thousands of innocent Iraqi and Afghanistan civilians blown to red dust, thousands of our troops dead, tens of thousand maimed for life, tens of thousands mentally marred for life, whole sections of our nation turning into third world waste zones while we foot the trillion dollar bill for pointless counterproductive aggression and “nation building”, Iraq is gifted to Iran, now stronger than ever… and (screw you if you are deluded enough to think otherwise) that scumbag was at the center of it all.

Who could hate a guy like that?

What is “Dick’s point of view”? And please define “imperialism” for me. Then I’ll try to answer.

If by “imperialism” you mean cultural influence, then I guess the US is imperialist. But then again so is every country to some degree, like Mexico for instance.

If you mean militarily, then I guess Iraq and Afghanistan qualify. For now. But no responsible person, not even Dick Cheney I hope, believes we should stay there indefinitely. As for our military presence in Europe, Japan and Korea, those countries are free to ask us to leave any time. They don’t. Why?

If you mean economic influence, then the US is imperialist. But so is the rest of the world. Germany has a BMW plant in South Carolina. Japan builds cars all over the US. I buy coffee from Sumatra and Kenya. Is Kenya “imperialist”?

“Nevertheless is it your inquisitiveness that prompts controversy.”

Thank you! I’ve succeeded. The trouble with truthdig and all other highly ideological websites, right or left is the near unanimous viewpoints expressed. They’re all huge echo chambers of self-reinforcement and mutual admiration. When anyone, like myself, dares to question the sacredness of your cows, he’s buried in calumny and character assassination.

Do you really think any responsible commentator will liken Dick Cheney to Stalin or Pol Pot? This isn’t discourse, this is hyperventilation and hysteria.

Whatever in world does vegan have to do with dick?

However did humans ever get to this age of extreme amounts of
obesity when we evolved as carnivores? Or does top of the food

Would you have mankind mourn the death of Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, and Pol Pot? Would you have us dance in the street at outbreaks of Black Plague, polio and small pox?

How can one not experience an overwhelming sense of joie de vivre? The demise of evil is something to be celebrated… not mourned.

If you feel a need to express compassion why not express compassion to all those multiple millions of lives negatively affected by his life’s work?

Cheney is responsible for the deaths of tens or hundreds of thousands of people, all of whom died for nothing.  The majority probably died terrified and in agony.  It’s not hatred you’re hearing here but a cry for justice which will never be answered.  When Cheney is gone from this earth, it will most definitely be cause to celebrate.  “Hell is other people”, Jean-Paul Sartre once said.  Cheney is most definitely those other people.

Instead you’ve got about 300 of these:

“Richard Bruce Cheney is a patriot and an American hero.”

“Godspeed Mr Cheney, get well soon.”

“You and yours remain in our thoughts. Hopefully you will have a full recovery.”

But at least they let this one through:

I’d like to see general public understanding that Cheney started the war in Iraq because he was suckered by Akmed Chalabi into believing the people would greet US soldiers with flowers and grant the US permanent military bases and ownership of oil fields. Instead we sacrificed many lives and social and environmental devastation and two trillion dollars to hand Iraq over to Iran.

And I’d like to see his crimes prosecuted before he dies, although after would do as well.

The proof will be in the final pudding. When this very sick individual finally croaks
they will try to cover up his years of decadence and debauchery that has been
perpetrated on the world and especially the American People and the Nation with
full media coverage of his funeral and the fairy tale history rewrite of his existence
and so called accomplishments.  We will actually see how much power this man
wielded even after death through pressure from big oil and corporate power to
sanitize his footsteps through life. The banner will read about the passing of a
“Great American”. Actually I hope many will finally come forward after his death
and “spill the beans” on this disgrace of a mankind. May he rot in hell.

Dick Cheney will surely someday be recognized for the worthless human that he was. How will the main media play it when this malevolent specimen of misfired mankind finally has the unintentional decency to kick off?

How will the news anchors read the will to those of us he leaves behind?  How will they rundown the roster of those legacy goodies produced at the undisclosed location?

We will own them for a lifetime, those particular effects, fashioned by him in the course of achieving insurmountable damage during an eight-year corporatist reign of dysfunction, destruction and degeneracy.

Instinctively disliked by about 25 percent of the US public, with about another 50 percent (including those who actually pay attention) essentially detesting the man, setting aside and disregarding Fox, will the other cables and networks be able to play it sufficiently straight as they placidly propagandize with false positives his character and career?

Will the vested anchors spiel through clinched teeth as they oblige their masters, kicking-off the rewrite?

Yes, they will.

Expect to read and hear the occasional mealy-mouthed qualifier: “Although some would say he was a controversial figure; at times combative and occasionally divisive, none can deny that Richard Bruce Cheney was…”

In the main, that’s about as strong as it will get. The script is already in place, and has been for years.  They’ll just polish up the final draft then regurgitate the pre-approved plot points, summarizing and sanitizing the wretched life story of this corrupt corporatist puppet; this incompetent ideologue; this degenerate sociopath; this proud war criminal; this despicable human being.

WHEREAS, Of Dick Cheney, it can be simply said: The world would be a better place were he never born.

It would be good to imagine karma may be about to catch up with the war criminal, and normally rich people such as cheney have ways of avoiding health consequences, but if amerikans stay vigilant and focussed, they should be able to ensure cheney doesn’t pull any of the ‘usual’ stunts.
At any one time 3000 amerikans are waiting for a heart transplant while approx 2000 hearts are available for transplant each year.

Many factors come into consideration when deciding who gets what so it is vital that the media is told by their users that people have an interest in ensuring cheney waits his turn.  The man is so old that he wouldn’t be considered for a transplant in some countries because the transplanted organ would likely outlive the rest of the patient.  The heart would be given to someone who would use all of it’s life giving potential.  In addition the odds of complication are greater.
Cheney would undoubtedly love to check into a base hospital in Japan or the Philippines and have a new heart ordered up like a pizza from China where death row prisoners are tissue typed and executed according to the need to harvest their body parts, but he will also be concerned about the ‘look’ that would create.  Not to mention difficulties from even more protesting citizens the next time he went on tour spruiking murder, mayhem, and torture for his buddies in the military industry.
