Senate OKs Debt Deal, Obama Makes It Official (Updated)Posted on Aug 2, 2011
The U.S. Senate passed the debt deal just after noon Tuesday, avoiding a government default that was less than 12 hours away. Both Democrats and Republicans fell in line behind the hotly contested bill in the face of economic catastrophe, passing it on a vote of 74 to 26. Of the “yea” votes, 45 were Democrats and 28 were Republicans. Votes against the bill included 19 Republicans, six Democrats and one Independent, Bernie Sanders. President Obama then quickly signed the bill into law. The measure will give the government $400 billion in immediate borrowing authority to pay its bills and avoid default. —BF

I am dizzy today from hearing all the “spinning” going on. Now the damage control pundits have started to try and calm down the sheeple. “Go back to sleep sheeple, you have nothing to worry about, the big bad wolf is not going to eat you,” they say. I was in my car for a while today, listening to NPR, each time I heard how they have managed to “avert a crisis”, it made me sick. I tell you this entire process is nothing more than a spin game, the losers are the majority of Americans. Those cuts, they will happen, but, not with such fanfare just more back room deals. Those cuts, like when they closed down all the mental institutions back during the Reagan years, those cuts really worked out well for us, well the new cuts will ad a new dimension toward lowering the bar even more today. imo

Millions are taking to the streets in protest. Outraged that they and their children do not have equal access to education, healthcare, or even clean air, healthy food, and water can contain industrial toxic waste from gas well fracturing.
Opps, sorry forgot this is America where citizen are passively watching Dancing With The Stars and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
