For his next act, President Obama has made a replacement for former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel appear, and it’s none other than William Daley, another member of Chicago’s Daley political dynasty—and one with close ties to Wall Street. —KA

I remember president Obamas inauguration. The atmosphere, the sense of excitement
Report thisand almost awe that people had. Millions of people all across this land had come
together and produced a miracle, now at last we had hope things were going to change,
to get better. What’s important to remember about that day is not his betrayal of us, but
that Americans had the power and the desire to create and realize their dreams of
change for this country. Despite our present discouragement, our power to create
change remains. In fact many more millions of Americans than before realize that this
country must change in order to survive. Now imagine that same inauguration scene of
two years ago. Only this time imagine someone else as president. Who that person is,
we won’t know yet. But what we do know is that we have the power to put them in
office. Someone else who is as committed to change as we are, who is as willing to fight
for it as we are, and who is as willing to jail those who have corrupted this nation as we
are. It could be Elizabeth Warren, or David Sirota, or maybe even Jesse Ventura. But
never forget they serve only by our will, and we the people have the power to change
things. When we the people work for each other then no one can stop us.

I certainly hope Daley’s appointment helps Obama’s “frayed relationship with Wall Street.” Because serving the interests of Wall Street should be the primary goal of every US president, right?
