Continental Unites With UnitedPosted on Sep 17, 2010
Shareholders of Continental and United Airlines have finally voted to form a more perfect United Airlines, merging the two companies under United’s name to create the world’s largest airline service, overtaking its closest U.S. rival—the newly merged Delta and Northwest Airlines—and European carriers. Although the merger was met positively by shareholders, many labor critics believe the union will actually lead to job cuts as the two companies join. —JCL

Like the gas stations and newspapers, the march towards monopoly and price control continue.
I’m glad I quit flying awhile ago, TSA, scanners, shoe removal, what kind of nation have we become?
I’ll spend my money somewhere less intrusive.

This is how the game works. Big eats little, competition vanishes, Big makes sure that no other little will ever rise against it. Prices rise, service diminishes or disappears.
But hey, at least we’re not socialists.

Another fine example of the “free” market’s inexorable march to monopoly! All hail deregulation and competition in the name of consumer choice and lower prices!
