Clinton Calls for Unity on Syria at U.N.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addresses a Security Council meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York City on Monday.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton paid a visit to the United Nations Security Council on Monday to appeal once again to the international community about the crisis in Syria, making pointed remarks in the general direction of China and Russia as she urged all member nations to get with the regime change program, and soon.  —KA

BBC:

Ms Clinton told the UN Security Council meeting in New York: “We believe that now is the time for all nations - even those who have previously blocked our efforts - to stand behind the humanitarian and political approach spelled out by the Arab League.”

In a clear reference to China and Russia, she appealed to the international community to “say with one voice - without hesitation or caveat - that the killing of innocent Syrians must stop and a political transition must begin”.

Her words echoed those of British Foreign Secretary William Hague, and of Mr Ban who said the Syrian government had “failed to fulfil its responsibility to protect its own people and instead has subjected its citizens in several cities to military assault and disproportionate use of force”.

He said the Council must “unite strongly” behind UN and Arab League peace envoy Kofi Annan’s efforts “to help Syria pull back from the brink of a deeper catastrophe”.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the situation in Syria remained a “grave concern” but warned that change in the Arab world “must not be achieved by misleading the international community or manipulating the Security Council”.

As Americans its a good thing to see the Bush Doctine coming to fruition. Having arabs kill each other is much more cost effective then us having to do it.  We do make some money on the weapons sales as well as the photos of mangled civilians. lol

I sure as hell don’t.

Apropos Clinton’s voyeuristic enjoyment of Gaddafi’s death, a State Dept. whistleblower, Peter Van Buren, is getting canned for criticizing her behavior.

From CD:  “Adding to the trumped-up nature of the charges, the State Department accuses Van Buren of “bad judgment” because he ...criticized Hillary Clinton’s laughing at Libyan leader Qaddafi’s death.”

Further quoting Washington Post: “In an Oct. 21 blog post headlined ‘Hillary Clinton Disgraces America,’ Van Buren called a “disgrace” a comment the Secretary of State made to a journalist after the death of Moammar Gaddafi. “We came, we saw, he died,” Clinton tells a CBS News reporter in a video clip he posted on his blog, showing her laughing.  Van Buren made references to Clinton’s private parts that he later removed from the posting. According to a report by the State Department, the agency put him on a watch list for the Secret Service and identified him to Clinton’s own security details as a potential threat.

Van Buren said he “purposely wanted to make a point that what she did [in reaction to Gaddafi’s death] was obscene. The secretary of state making fun of a world leader’s death, is that less obscene than a naughty word you might say in a junior high school bathroom?”

I find this one of Obama’s more direct communications:

GOLDBERG: Can you just talk about Syria as a strategic issue? Talk about it as a
humanitarian issue, as well. But it would seem to me that one way to weaken and
further isolate Iran is to remove or help remove Iran’s only Arab ally.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Absolutely.

Occman’s fits perfectly.  Syria is absolutely a strategic issue for the US against Iran.

However, your problem with aggression won’t allow for that.

Your link doesn’t work as you know/knew.  Though predictably, you’ll make

can read beyond the literal and assimilate info on their own.  It’s extremely
disingenuous to think that a claim accompanied by a link somehow proves your

I’m tired of the personal accusations that amount to little than your own
projections of yourself.  You need to stop and leave me alone as I’ve told you
repeatedly in the most clear way I could.  If you continue, I will lodge a direcr
complaint about you to the management. I’m tired of both your lies and the

So what comes next, a dishonest apology or another lie that you won’ bother

simply LEAVE ME ALONE.

The road to Tehran will be carpet bombed through Damascus, if Killary and her
bosses can have their say.  Even Obama recently admitted in an interview with
Jeff Goldberg ( I think that’s who) that Syria was a preliminary obstacle en route
to Iran.

But I’ll be an optimist and assume that the US has major international
limitations, which is what has the Madame Secretary so flustered and bellicose.
On the other hand, I’m concerned that those making all the preparations with
bunker busters, Kosovo loopholes into Syria, etc. are hellbent despite the
obvious limitations and consequences, like the mutual protection pact with Iran
and the likely explosion of sectarian tensions throughout the region.  Not to
mention the economical impact of waging wars by an essentially a bankrupt
nation.

Unfortunately, the empire seems mindlessly going hari-kari as it churns out the
war theatre Kabuki IMHO.  There’s no “limited engagement” for Syria, any more
than there are humanitarian reasons for going to war with it.  Anyone who
believes otherwise is mad.  I’d say even the oil speculators concur with how destructive the course could be.

What a reprehensible woman HRC is!  O’bomber couldn’t have found a better
SoS for his and his handlers’ agendas.

The metaphor applies to Hilary Clinton and Condi Rice, as well as Obama. Ironically, Rice is a “two-fore”.

Some one let me know when we can stop pretending to give a rats ass about Muslims being slaughter?

By any measuring stick, America has killed far more Muslim Men women and children than all of these tin pot dictators combined.

Destabilizing Syria is part of our over all Middle East strategy. In this case it is to take out an Iranian, Hezbollah, Hamas supporter. Knocking off Israels enemies at US tax payers expense. Just as we left Iraq and Libya in chaos, we plan to do the same thing to Syria first and then Iran dooming millions of Muslims to generational conflict so America and Israel can feel safe. History will look back on us as we in retrospect view the Roman Empire.

While there must be some truth to the “war for profit is evil” point of view.  It cannot be sane to focus on correcting that in one stroke of the pen (blog entry).

You will drive yourself crazy trying to insult the bad guys into righteousness from here.

The truth can be denied the way a river can be redirected by a dam.  Eventually the dam (levy) gives way.  Only point out the dam’s weakness, not it’s strength, the truth will do the rest. I think.

Thank you for saying it for me.  I was going to be more explicit about the gang-banging sodomy with knives, but I was unsure if it was proven that she was watching that specifically.  The gutteral, chortling sounds she was making were so disgusting that I couldn’t bring myself to think that they were in response to that horrific rape.  However, the rest of the world clearly thought so, to judge from the hundreds of sexualized death threats left in utube’s comment section.  I doubt she’ll ever be able to travel outside the U.S. without a private mercenary army to protect her.  As for her convenient sense of justice, the “rebels” who committed that barbaric crime were on tape, so they could have been identified and convicted, if, upon reflection, she had felt a bit of shame and wanted to make up for her faux-pas.  But apparently our snuff-film-watching Secretary is also an exhibitionist!

The Western media has not been reporting true facts about the conflict in Syria and Libya.  There are only a few voices out there attempting to do this. One is A. Cockburn in an article in CounterPunch (Feb./2012 print issue.)  The casualty figures and the circumstances under which many deaths have occurred, as
reported by the media, contradict the observations of human rights organizations. We don’t have a clear picture of who the “freedom fighters” are, do we?  A number of years ago, Seymour Hersh, in an article in The New Yorker, warned about the extensive network that the US, Israel, S. Arabia, and other G. States maintain in the Middle East with the purpose of destabilizing governments they don’t like.  Needless to say, there’s an overabundance of money, weapons, and the willingness to distort facts invested in that.

Above all, we have no business meddling with foreign countries.  As far as H. Clinton, she runs errands for the gang with no shame.

Hillary the Hypocrite says that Syria’s “horrific campaign of violence” has “shocked the conscience of the world”.  It is Hillary who shocked the world!  Are we supposed to have forgotten Libya?  Or how Hillary cackled with delight, as she watched via cellphone Gaddafi being butchered by her “rebels”?  She should have been forced to resign after that little spectacle went viral on the web.  Outside the U.S., she is probably the most despised woman on the planet.  Does she actually believe that anyone in the Security Council still takes her seriously or thinks we have humanitarian intentions?
