Clinton Announces Iran Sanction Plan to Senate Committee

Clinton
Associated Press via Los Angeles Times

After months of negotiations between the U.S. and other members of the United Nations Security Council, as well as push-back from Russia and China in particular, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday that Russia, China, France and Britain have all agreed on a resolution to impose sanctions on Iran in response to its controversial (to some outside Tehran at least) nuclear program.  —KA

Los Angeles Times:

The announcement to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee came one day after Iran offered a diplomatic proposal that many Western leaders view as an attempt to deflect the new round of economic strictures.

“This announcement is as convincing an answer to the efforts undertaken by Tehran over the last few days as any we could provide,” Clinton said.

Germany, a close ally though not a council member, also agreed on the draft.

I can understand the ‘Disaster Capitalists’ wishing to sink their straws into Iranian oil pools, but not for the reasons you suspect; they certainly would not wish to destroy the safe haven they’ve given birth to in China; to which they flee, while the Wall-Street Gaming and War Industries have been bunkering down in Dubai.

Just look around, where have U.S. Industries been fleeing to? China, or where ever opportunity is found for the exploitation of cheap labor; including lax environmental pollution laws.

If anything, this same vile, greedy and murderous bunch, of ‘newly empowered fascists’, will look back from the heights of its new perch with contempt upon the defaulting payers they’ve abandoned.

This hermaphrodite has a bee up its whatever about Iran.It doesnt matter if Iran throws away all its uranium, dismantles and destroys all its reactors, burn all its military bases and destroys all its missiles and condemns all its revolutionary guards to death,it will still build a case to justify a war against a country that has never attacked any country in over 200 years.

There is nothing Iran can do to satisfy the EU and the U.S.. It’s all about grabbing Iran’s oil and gas so Russia’s resources become less relevant to Europe’s needs and China’s growth can be stopped - or at least slowed a little.

I closed my businesses in the U.K and the U.S. during the past five years and moved them to South America, so at least my taxes won’t help pay for the upcoming slaughter. Not that it’s much of a consolation to me. There will still be a slaughter. The present members of the U.K. and U.S. governments are, like their predecessors over the past two hundred years, a vile, greedy and murderous bunch.

That scene from “Full Metal Jacket” does not imitate new world warfare to the
degree that young “gunners” experience now. Nowadays they still “lead” their
bullets a little less for old people and children, but the firepower is so much more
intense with Gatling multiple barreled machine guns. Vietnam was child’s play in
comparison. Cluster bombs are another nasty trick. They can wipe out small
muslim villages and their innocent inhabitants no problem.

Didn’t we recently see pictures of Iranians rioting in the streets against their government?  Shocking.  So shocking that we’re imposing sanctions on their country - which will hurt the people/protesters probably more than anyone else - just to show them that America doesn’t cotton to plebians taking up the banners of freedom and justice in defiance of their government. (It might be catching?)

Rather than supporting the people of Iran, we have apparently chosen to alienate them by making their daily lives more difficult.  Way to go, Uncle Sam.

And does anyone honestly believe that the nation of Iran, even if it has the ‘bomb’, will launch a war against the US, or Israel for that matter? Assuming they’re not suicidal, that is.

At least the movie ended. Our boys in uniform and our intelligence services are doing this shit and worse every day.

Art imitates life, not the other way around. And there is nothing more artful and touching than a pile of murdered people, or a secret prison, or torture chamber.

keep beating the drum, amunaor! We should all never forget how that single clip has best summized how the US has run it’s military foreign policy since WWII. When you don’t repect anyone, you cannot ever expect it return. (I think we all learned that in sunday school).

The way our military treats other peoples is best summed up in the film “Full Metal Jacket”

“the people we are killing today are some of the finest people we will ever know”.

“Do you ever shoot women, and children?”

“Sometimes”.

“How can you do that, shoot women and children?”

“It’s easy, you just don’t lead ‘em so much. Ain’t war hell?”

With all of that testosterone coming out of Hilary, you have to wonder what is her problem?  Angry at Bill for his dalliances?  If you want to fight a war, do it with him and don’t drag us into another stupid and illegal war(with us paying the bill).
And who made her the overseer when it comes to policy?  Obama betrayed the people he promised change to when he brought her into our government(one of many such betrayals).

Oh Hillary, you turn me on when you get so tough and demanding. Bubba and
Hillary can’t wait for Barry to finish his one and only term in office. The way I
figure it a deal was made during the last presidential campaign, that being Obama
would bow out after his first term and let Hillary in as Pres if she can win the
election. The gig she is performing now is to give her the so called credentials as
a worldly diplomat. Far fetched? Then Barry can walk into the sunset just like Blair.

Isn’t it amazing how the Obama administration just continues with the program the Bush administration began?  Saber rattling against Iran?  Well yes, it’s all about redrawing the map of the Middle East.

And here so many of us were thinking we were getting “Change We Can Believe In.”

The shame.

Aren’t you getting tired of plugging that quote?

I have in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers a copy of the sanctions the US will impose forthwith:
1. Playboy Magazine will no longer be available in Iran.
2. The US will declare that Israel is a very bad actor.
3. Zoroaster will be declared in league with the devil.
4. The US will hereafter prefer Sunni to Shia interpretations of Islam. Ali is peronna non grata.
