CIA

The Washington Post is reporting that the suicide bomber who carried out the deadliest attack against the agency in a quarter-century was a trusted double agent who “lured intelligence officers into a trap by promising new information about al-Qaeda’s top leadership. ...”

Washington Post:

The attacker, a physician-turned-mole, had been recruited to infiltrate al-Qaeda’s senior circles and had gained the trust of his CIA and Jordanian handlers with a stream of useful intelligence leads, according to two former senior officials briefed on the agency’s internal investigation. His track record as an informant apparently allowed him to enter a key CIA post without a thorough search, the sources said.

The bomber, identified as Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, was standing just outside an agency building on the base Wednesday when he exploded a bomb hidden under his clothes, killing the seven Americans along with a Jordanian officer who had been assigned to work with him. Six CIA operatives were wounded.

it’s a stretch to believe this suicide bomber—who are supposedly dumb brain-washed youths—was some sort of double agent who gained the confidence of the entire cia emcampment.  sounds like a story to give cover to a very unfortunate goof.

Seems the term BLOWBACK is not an acceptable way to describe,
what those who do in our name, that that will somehow come
back on us and especially in this case where time and again I
read comments that allude as to WHY did it happened.

But it will NOT be blowback to the afghans because they know
why their little children are executed by american troops.

Meanwhile, report of this atrocity has been virtually completely suppressed:

(by David Lindorff in Alternet)

The apparent mass murder of Afghan schoolchildren, including one as young as 11, by U.S.-led troops, was virtually blacked out in the American media. The Taliban suicide attack that killed a group of CIA agents in Afghanistan was big news in the U.S. over the past week. The attack took place on a base that was directing U.S. drone aircraft used to attack Taliban leaders. The airwaves and front pages were filled with sympathetic stories referring to the fact that the female station chief, who was among those killed, was the “mother of three children.”

But the apparent mass murder of Afghan school children, including one as young as 11 years old, by U.S.-led troops, was pretty much blacked out in the American media. Especially blacked out was the claim by UN investigators that the students had not just been killed but executed, many of them after having first been rousted from their bedrooms and handcuffed.

Here is the excellent report on the incident that ran in the Times of London (like Fox News, a Rupert Murdoch-owned publication) on Dec. 31:?

This type of attack will be characteristic of our involvement in Afghanistan over the coming years.  Suicide bombers, roadside bombs, one dead American here, three dead Americans there.  And now and then, a spectacular and highly deadly attack that will grab the headlines for a few moments.  Drip, drip, drip.

Has this attack been “avenged” yet?

Just how incompetent is the CIA? Pretty incompetent I’d
say; working with a guy they want to turn; key word
here…turn, meaning they want a double agent.
Well, in fact he was a triple agent! Keystone cops
here; just where the hell do they think they are? In a Hollywood movie where the good guys always win?
The CIA agents made amateur mistakes in a for keeps
situation.

“Last week’s attack will be avenged. Some very bad people are eventually going to have a very bad day.”

Did y’all catch that quote???? I love it….  Like the guy that killed those spooks is already dead and they are gonna what—kill him again???  I mean,, the guy is dead for Christ’s sake…. He blowed himself up….  You’re avenged already…..

You know if these spooks got wasted walking out of their suburban homes in the US of A I might have just of modicum of simpathy for them but when they travel 8000 miles to a foreign country with the sole purpose of killing innocent people who just want to defend their homeland, well, then “f*&k em”!!!!!

Don’t shed too many tears for them because their families will be taken care of by Uncle Sucker for the rest of their lives…. And the ones that were wounded will be patched up and taking early retirement somewhere in the Florida Keys before you know it…..

Did I already say “f*&k em?”

ps How much ya wanna bet that when they do “avenge” them they end up killing a whole bunch of innocents and then the cycle will repeat itself all over again…. I can just hear Elton John in the background singing “the circle of life.”
