Christopher Dorner Manhunt May Be Over (Video)Posted on Feb 13, 2013
Investigators believe that it was fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner who barricaded himself in a cabin, engaged officers in an intense gunfight and was unable to escape before the building burned down. Authorities have not been able to enter the cabin, located near Big Bear Lake, Calif., since it became engulfed in flames Tuesday. They say, however, that they are confident the person inside was Dorner. “We believe that he was still inside the cabin [as it burned down], yes,” Cindy Bachman, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, said. Dorner, an ex-LAPD officer, was the target of a sweeping manhunt after he allegedly began a deadly rampage more than a week ago.
CBS News reporter Carter Evans, who was caught in the middle of the gunfight, captured the following video of the dangerous situation.
