Cellphones Might Cause Cancer, MaybePosted on May 31, 2011
If you’re feeling confused about this issue, you’re not alone: Conflicting reports have been released, but now a group of experts from the World Health Organization is claiming that cellphones, under certain heavy-use circumstances, may cause cancer in humans. Now we wait to see how mobile phone makers and carriers handle this one. —KA

This reminds me of the whole debate over whether cigarettes caused cancer when the health authorities first released reports saying they were carcinogenic. The tobacco companies denied it, but I still quit smoking, and I am sure glad I did. Unfortunately, cell phones are virtually impossible to quit, that’s our greatest downfall.

There has been a lot of very interesting studies made
Report thisduring the past 15 years.
Perhaps most interesting is that the cell phone
companies all got immunity a decade ago against being
sued for the possibility that RF from cell phones
cause health problems.
As an electronics engineer I studied the science and
am absolutely sure that there is a problem. I have no
absolute proof whcih I can give to others, but I have
a list of 14 things which you can do which are free
or very low cost which will reduce the RF from your
cell phone by at least 10X

The reality is that until very recently, the main
Report thissources of time-varying electromagnetic (EM) fields
were animals themselves and fields generated by solar
winds. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that
all evolution has happened under conditions of
isotropic space, meaning that space is
electromagnetically the same in all directions and
biologically relevant molecules are free to rotate
and translate in all directions. But in the presence
of man-made EM fields, that assumption is no longer
true and this has really profound implications. So,
for example, polar molecules in a field rotate to
align with the field and this has implications for
things like receptor binding efficiency and
intracellular signaling mechanisms which require
rotational freedom to function properly.

hello. for sure, a brain tumor is barely noticeable;
Report thismay only lower my score one level. but scrotum cancer?
keep the phone in a radioactive containment pouch! it
will be years before the data comes in connecting
‘brain changes from cell phones’ to tumors. that the
WHO is classifying it possibly as carcinogenic as
diesel exhausts, is what gets passed over: diesel
exhaust mutative carcinogens. we should all be wearing
oxygen tanks on inner city sidewalks.

If something is of great utility (usage, etc), it will surely have its own problems as well; cell phones are no exception. Asking a person never to use his cell phone will seem ridiculous in today’s world in spite the common buzz of the various cancers that might arise due to excessive usage of the mobile phones. With the cell phones penetration into every corner in life where this kind of connectivity was not even thought off during the wired days, the mobile phone is a part and parcel of life that is equivalent to your personal vehicle. The cell phones are a handy device in case of emergency that’s inevitable in the present scenario. However, I think, if using a Bluetooth or a earpiece that moves away the user’s head from the antenna can reduce the RF(Radio Frequency) electromagnetic waves, then it’s worth a practice to keep ourselves at bay from the carcinogenic effect.

In a way it doesn’t really matter whether or not mobile
Report thisphones cause cancer; the fix is just too easy; ear buds
or speaker. I use both and have for many, many years.
Cheers.

Whether this issue is true or not, the fact that we’re
Report thisfacing right now is that we can’t just stop using
cellphones, cause it’s now part of our daily lives.
Communication means everything to us and mobile phones
gives the best out of it. The only thing we could do
about this, is for cellphone manufactures to do some
serious research to lessen or to remove the negative
effect on our health, and just hope that they could do
that.
