Catholic Churches Bring Birth Control Debate Into Sunday ServicesPosted on Jan 30, 2012
Health care, religion and contraception commingled in last weekend’s Sunday services at Catholic churches around the country after new health insurance rules from the Obama administration struck some church leaders as anathema to their beliefs and a threat to their religious freedom. —KA

Jesus healed the woman who was afflicted with constant hemorrhaging. The church will not do the same!
When I was prescribed birth control pills to control menstrual flows of 20+ days a month, the insurance would not cover it because they did not cover contraceptives.
Even after being sterile, due to repairs from damage from childbirth, my hormone treatments were not covered. When insurance does not cover ‘birth control’, they don’t cover hormones for any reason. Not to treat menopause, cancer, abnormal bleeding, NADA!
The law required Catholic churches not to discriminate based on religion in hiring for schools and hospitals, but want to impose strict adherence to their entire doctrine on non-catholic employees.
Many of their insurance policies are designed to cover the medical needs of priests. So some have little or no coverage for pregnancy and birth, or any other female medical issues.
The government has as much right to require them to cover medications a doctor feels are needed and appropriate, as they do to say that not every doctor or nurse or orderly at a Catholic Hospital has to be Catholic. The government still allows religious based hospitals to refuse to do procedures like sterilization or abortion. Even though, per its own doctrine, there are times when sterilization is allowed.
Where do I get my facts? I have worked for several faith based employers. I graduated from a Catholic University and studied the doctrine related to marriage and having children. I have an uncle with a doctorate in catholic Theology.

Perhaps it is time we start taxing churches since the line between them and the state is blurring. If they want to be part of the government, tell people what to do, and campaign, then they need to be taxed.

The Lord never asked us to be idiots. He did ask us to be good stewards of the environment. Obviously we are now in a radical decline due to excessive population. That changes the moral imperative. We now need to encourage and even demand birth control and in some cases abortions as well. We should seek a decrease in births that is substantial taking us from the seven billion now alive down to perhaps one billion alive in rather short order.
Report thisWe will know the balance when all people can hunt and gather efficiently enough to provide all food and shelter for themselves. When there is not enough wild food to support a population the game has to change or else disaster.

For the Church-of-Pedophilia to tell anyone what to do with their own bodies is beyond laughable, it’s insane.

The church should not interfere in personal matters. If the church stands to get tax free status, then workers who work for them, should be entitled to the medical care. It should not matter to the church if someone wants to use birth control/contraceptives. This is far more better than abortion. If they don’t like it, then the churches of any denomination, should forfeit the tax breaks they have been enjoying these past few hundred years.
