White House / Pete Souza

Whatever President Obama is doing to reinstate closer ties with some high-profile members of his party is working, at least when it comes to congressional Democrats looking to extend their stays on Capitol Hill. So what’s his winning strategy?  —KA

The New York Times:

But with the economy slowly crawling back to life, a shift in messaging at the White House and a Republican push on social issues, Democrats are accepting — and in some cases openly embracing — the inevitable yoking of their campaigns to Mr. Obama’s as election-year activities accelerate. On Capitol Hill, Democrats have begun to mention Mr. Obama more often and have gone out of their way to publicly back some of his proposals.

Democrats say Mr. Obama’s near monophonic campaigning in recent months — highlighting his differences with Republicans on policies affecting the middle class — is far more resonant in their districts and states than defending the health care law or the stimulus package, issues that have dogged Democrats.

Barry and the dimmos plan to eliminate the competition is nearly complete. Oh, I am not talking about his repug competition, no. I speak of he and the DNC’s 1968, Mayor Daley, Hubert Humphrey eliminate the power of the left strategy. Its working like a charm. The Blue Dogs are lined up at the trough, with no room for libs. The fat is in the fire. The hog is in the tunnel. And the Liberals are now faced with the same old choice, support a man who is a moderate republican in sheeps dungarees, or withhold support for Barry and place a true plutocrat in the white house.

Whens the next train for Canada leave?

darkcycle;

your synopsis reminds me of Germany right before the Nazis came to power, with one exceptions; the Muslims are being cased in the role of the Jews.

The Zombie economy takes a lurch forward and democrats start cheering for Barry’s prospects. The printing presses are blasting out the now horrendously overvalued greenbacks, while Obushma and the Fed cross their fingers and hope for the best. Meanwhile, elsewhere in our story, Europe and the Euro stand at the edge of a precipice, and any hiccup could bring the entire house of cards down around their and our ears.
The empire is so shaken by the prospect of the world losing faith in the almighty dollar (now really only worth a few cents),that even the threat of a tiny country like Iran to begin to trade petroleum in a currency other than petro-dollars causes apoplexy and warnings of attacks on “nuclesr” facilities. War presidents tend to get elected, and the Obarry team knows this. So while they are making noises that sound like attempts to avoid war, they allow the dialog to move ever further down that road, and “privately” admit they may not be able to avoid it.
Tune in next episode, when the attack on Iran started in late August/early September of 2012 has allowed the president to succeed in his bid, but results in an oil price spike that deals the death blow to the Euro. That’s nothing, the US faces the third wave housing collapse, insolvent banks imploding, as the people try to deal with the effects of a dollar cheaper than toilet paper and crushing austerity, coupled with fuel prices out of reach for all but the few and the worst winter storms on record. All this on “Will the Republic Survive?”
