A spokesperson for the U.S. quickly declared that the countries weren’t in agreement on much in the chat, save the need to provide aid for the earthquake-devastated nation of Haiti.

Ry Cooder, with his “Buena Vista Social Club”, did more for improving US-Cuba relations than all the political haggling in a hundred years.  How come?

Politics divides people; cultural exchange brings people together.

In political matters, both sides want to “win.”
In cultural matters, both sides want to learn.
