For an Ashkenazi Jew to marry a Sephardic Jew is frowned upon in Israel. Sephardics Jews mainly come from North Africa & Arab countries.

In Apartheid Israel where racism & discrimination are as transparent as daylight, Sephardic Jews are looked upon as second class citizens. Arabs, Moslems, Christians are 3rd & 4th class citizens. They get the menial jobs if they are given any at all. Ashkenazi Jews are given first choice.

There’s been a lot of animosity among various groups in Israel for a very long
time. There has also been an increasing level of corruption. And yes, there are
needy Israelis.  All things considered, it’s not the best place for Jews to live in.
Many have left while others don’t have any other choice but stay there. A large
number would leave if they could. The utopia is unravelling.
