Borowitz on How Dick Cheney Marked 10th Anniversary of Iraq WarPosted on Mar 19, 2013
Former Vice President Dick Cheney and other Bush administration officials held a “sombre ceremony” at Halliburton Co. headquarters Tuesday to mark the 10th anniversary “of making up a reason to invade Iraq,” comedian Andy Borowitz reported in a satirical story for The New Yorker. Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz were among those in attendance. Due to other obligations, former President George W. Bush could not attend. He was, however, represented at the ceremony by a nude self-portrait, Borowitz joked.
