Blair’s high profile may have been a factor in his decision not to seek the EU presidency.

In a surprising last-minute move, Tony Blair has dropped out of the race for the European Council’s presidency, a position for which he was an early favorite.

The BBC:

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has dropped out of the race to be European Council President—just as EU leaders meet to decide who to appoint.

The Belgian Prime Minister Herman van Rompuy is widely expected to get the job, with French and German support.

The socialist group of EU leaders is now urging the appointment of EU Trade Commissioner Baroness Catherine Ashton as the new foreign policy supremo.

“Blair drops out of the race for the European Councils presidency” No, no, no, you misunderstand, he was in the race until he realized that the Europeans didn’t want his ass – then he dropped out. In the picture now?

It could have been the millions he got from the Israelis/Zionists for being such a good Middle Eastern peace mediator.

But he’s also a born again Catholic; he did go to Rome and kiss the Pope’s ring!

Blair Bush and Cheney should be sitting in front of a war crimes tribunal in Iraq held by the Iraqi people

Blair will be called to testify at the Iraq War investigation in the U.K. He’s probably polishing up what he’s going to say. If there were any justice in the world, he would be tried for war crimes and put away forever…along with a few other people.

Would seem the EU does NOT want a war criminal for a president. Why oh why
isn’t T. Blair slapped in shackles and chains and forthwith sent to the ICC to
answer for the crimes against humanity he committed? In vile collusion with that
Bush vermin. IF there is any justice left in our miserably suffering world, someday
and hopefully soon, Bush and Blair will be held to account for the horrors they
unleashed on innocents in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hell will indeed be a joyous
place on the day that Bush and Blair pass from this mortal existence.

The thought of him being president of anything besides the prisoners’ entertainment committee is laughable.

Blair is currently reading every book he can locate dealing with the contours of Hell where he is undoubtedly bound after ahuffling off his stainless steel mortal coil.  He has no time to be EU prez.  He and his lawyer wife are trying to come up with a strategy to wrest control of Hell away from Joseph Stalin, current Secretary-General of the place.
