We’ve been nominated for the 2010 Webby Awards in both the political site and political blog categories (and we’re in great company). Big thanks from the staff to all our readers, donors, writers and commenters who made it possible.

Take a bow and then take a minute to vote for us in the Webby People’s Voice Awards—because your voice matters!

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

I agree that all this registering on the web just to participate is a bit much. But - just giving email and a password so that the site can verify that a human is involved doesn’t seem untoward.

I really love Robert Scheer and have listened to him for at least 20 years. Three Cheers for Robert!

I don’t like having to register to vote.  Couldn’t navigate it at all last year.

Hey Truthdig? Seems one has to “register” to vote for Truthdig at the ‘webby’ site
thingy. Well that’s just damn irritating. Cause you know, all the ‘webby’ site thingy
wants is one’s “personal information” and that’s bullshit! Bullshit on the part of
‘webby’ site thingy and NOT Truthdig. I mean, it ain’t like we’re about the business
of electing a ‘president’ or something. So wtf? How a come the ‘webby’ site thingy
“needs” one to regisiter to vote for Truthdig? Dang, that is so irritating.
Please note, Truthdig has my vote in every and any category necessary. However,
I’m not about to regisiter with the ‘webby’ site thingy. Nope. They can kiss my ass.
