Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has officially been placed under investigation for allegedly paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl, providing even more fodder for criticism of the scandal-addicted Italian executive.

While some may think paying for sex with underage women is bad enough, Berlusconi defended himself with the off-putting “As always, I work without interruption and if occasionally I happen to look a beautiful girl in the face, it’s better to like beautiful girls than to be gay.” —JCL

The Guardian:

Silvio Berlusconi has been formally placed under investigation on suspicion of paying for sex with a 17-year old girl, according to a statement issued today by prosecutors in Milan.

He was further accused of abusing his position as Italy’s prime minister by bringing pressure to bear on the police to cover up his alleged relationship with the girl, who was working as a prostitute.

The two alleged offences carry sentences totalling 15 years in jail.

The statement said Berlusconi, who has not been charged, had been invited to present himself for questioning. The prosecutors said he had been formally made a suspect on 21 December, but the news only broke today on the website of the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

I understand both drbhelthi and Cristiano’s comments very well. Corruption and media control and the total melting of the Democratic system is happening all over the Western World. We are now global in many ways and the results are pretty obvious. To be honest I think we are at the same point with the current Democartic process as Monarchy was at the end of the First World War and I cannot wait to see a major political revolution and the total phasing out of this creepy system that is now dominating our lives. Never before have the elites been so powerful and rich even in the days of the Russian Czars. It is sickening and I for one will be more than ready to help get this monumental screw up blown away.

Berlusconi was voted in because of his close ties with
the mafia and the CIA, which brought about the
“removal” of the previous minister, who did not have
close ties with the mafia and the CIA.

The same forces behind the pre-election pazazz in the
USofA, falsified, packaged promises to the lower four
Socio-Economic-Strata, which led to the election of the
Kenyan, B.H. Obama, to the U.S.Presidency.

Berlusconi is voted in Italy mainly because he own a large part of the italian media, so he can manipulate the pubblic discourse in Italy in any way he like, make a fool of its opponents, create false problems and fake solution, and so fool the people, aided in this by the “opposition” parties (something like the Republicans and the Democrats in the US).

Please spare us from this criminal idiot. It is one of the great political misteries to me that this man is voted in to run Italy. Is this because he is the best choice possible in that country. If it is Italy is in big trouble. Just like the rest of us I guess!
