Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin at the Glenn Beck “Restoring Honor” rally Aug. 28 in Washington.

Fox News mainstays and tea-party superstars Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are joining forces for a big-ticket event in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sept. 11. Ostensibly, it’s just a “coincidence” that this right-wing pep rally is happening on such an auspicious date.

Tickets reportedly range from $73.75 to $225. And as Gawker pointed out Thursday, it’s not clear where the proceeds will go at this point.  —KA

Associated Press via The Anchorage Daily News:

The show originally featured only Beck, a popular Fox News Channel personality, according to Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event. Cox later thought of adding the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, and she agreed to it, he said.

Cox said the date of the event is a coincidence. Cox originally was eyeing Sept. 4, but did not want to compete with the Alaska State Fair, and moved the date to a week later, which worked out better for Beck as well.

“And you know what, it’s a great date for me, for America, for Alaska,” Cox said.

I don’t see it that way. Also you are short changing Dylan Ratitigan, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow & Laurence O’Donnel. Hopefully no one will listen to you and your gross mischaracterization of MSNBC.

Olbermann has his fun. You just don’t understand that he isn’t like Bill Maher at all. Not a bit of it.

The biggest news in cable news of 2010 is the remarkable rise of Glenn Beck at Fox. His Friday night special drew huge numbers and leapfrogged his show above long-time #2 Sean Hannity. What was CNN thinking when the let this guy get away? As for the rest of the cable news pack, some were up a little, some were down a little. And Larry King continues to be CNN’s last man standing. Not now. So who does MSNBC have? Nobody except Keith Olbermann who has the contagious virus going around MSNBC called the “Maher Syndrome.” Keith’s commentary never included a smidgeon of intelligence but now it’s even worse, he now sounds like a cross between Mel Gibson and Lawrence O’Donnell. As the syndrome progresses it will cause Keith to fall into the “Chris Matthews phase.” This will lead him to believe that he is his own guest, in other words, he asks and answers every question. This will lead Keith to start spitting when he pronounces certain words, it’s similar to Sylvester the Cat’s lisp.  Sylvester’s lisp of course was much worse but at least the people he talked to stayed dry. The next phase is the Dylan Rattigan phase and he will find himself starting to spend time in Hugh Hefner’s grotto and believing the women when they tell him “you were great” or he will start believing the info coming out of “Pravda” MSNBC. The last stage of the syndrome is called the Bill Maher psycho phase. This phase will start with an eye “tremor” or eye itch, similar to the one that Inspector Dryfus had (Inspector Clouseau’s enemy) in the Pink Panther movies. The angrier you get, the more it twitches. The more it twitches the angrier you get. And of course with this last phase, he will start believing the notes the Progressives and the Mao lovers have him reading.

The 5% who have no idea what they are doing is wrong or bad. They are incapable of understanding the ramifications so they just march on doing whatever they like, want, or will help them. Completely untrustworthy, though Beck has said only a “nut case” would believe or follow anything he says.

You have been warned.

Have we really fallen that far? I’m rereading Howard Fast’s book Being Red, and am immersed in the likes of John Rankin, McCarthy, Cohn, Hoover, Truman. Palin and Beck are just the latest in a long line of despicable and psychologically twisted Americans who lack the slightest degree of self-consciousness or humility.

The presidency, is the biggest beauty pagent, that Sarah Palin has ever been in.

There will be endless, dizzying days of primping in front of the mirror. Of trying out looks, of scrutinizing hair, nails and lipstick.

Her little side kick Glenn Beck, gets to handle the intellectual stuff, the brainy stuff, and he’s good at creating confusion…But that wont’ take much attention away from her…

What more could a girl want?

The Two Fascists: what a charming pair. And still out looking for the sucker vote. Well, why not? The suckers fell for it in 2001.

So many godly coincidences they have running for them isn’t it? Almost as if it is planned…well isn’t it?

Wow, what an elegant scam and it pays the bills and fattens the wallets, and gladdens hearts I suppose too.
