Bangladesh Labor Protest Turns Deadly

Protesting Bangladeshi garment workers burn tires and furniture to block traffic on Sunday.

A labor struggle has turned violent in Bangladesh. In protests that have shut down factories in the southern part of the country, three workers have been killed and scores injured as police clashed with demonstrators demanding higher wages. —JCL

The BBC:

At least three people were killed and dozens more injured when police in Bangladesh clashed with garment factory workers demanding better pay, police have said.

Police used batons and tear gas to disperse thousands of protesters in Dhaka and Chittagong.

The unrest came a day after demonstrations shut down factories in southern Bangladesh.

A preview of coming attractions? Just a thought; why don’t protesters go to uniform or surplus shops and start showing up at these demonstrations decked out like cops? It’d be interseting to see how the bully-boys try to figure out who’s who before it all starts hitting the fan!
