Backlash Mounts Against GadhafiPosted on Feb 22, 2011
Support for Col. Moammar Gadhafi in the midst of a Libyan uprising, however much he had, was dwindling Tuesday as former members of his own government joined outside critics in condemning violence against protesters as Gadhafi held fast to his position. —KA

This guy has been bad all his life and was kept in power by brutal force and by these same people who are now acusing him of everything. Now that the boat is in peril they are all jumpimg ship and the West again is going to bail them out. The usual cynicism that has kept these guys in power for economic sake. It is disgusting really. All these people trying to jump are as bad as Ghadafi. They are just realizing the sucking is over.

The problem with the U.S. condemning violence—in Libya or anywhere else—is that it has been conducting massive violence in Iraq and then in Afghanistan and now Pakistan for almost a decade, running torture operations, and tasering its own people when they protest.
Report thisSuch self-protecting condemnation is loaded with hypocrisy, just as when Secretary Clinton contends that Wikileaks has “endangered many lives”, it comes off as a really bad joke under the circumstances.
Recent turns of events worldwide are pressing the US government to reform itself. Hopefully, not all of our politicians and corporate elite are able to tune out the obvious.
