Ariz. Anti-Immigrant Wing to Target Children

Posted on Jun 13, 2010
Flickr / cactusbill

Arizona’s maligned anti-immigrant Sheriff Joe Arpaio (left) with state Sen. Russell Pearce, an architect of the infamous SB 1070 anti-immigrant law.

Arizona Republicans are expected to introduce legislation this fall that would strip the citizenship of those quite offensively dubbed “anchor babies,” children born in the U.S. to parents who are undocumented. It seems that the state’s anti-immigrant wing is going even crazier than previously thought possible. —JCL

Yahoo! News:

“Anchor babies” isn’t a very endearing term, but in Arizona those are the words being used to tag children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. While not new, the term is increasingly part of the local vernacular because the primary authors of the nation’s toughest and most controversial immigration law are targeting these tots - the legal weights that anchor many undocumented aliens in the U.S. - for their next move.

Buoyed by recent public opinion polls suggesting they’re on the right track with illegal immigration, Arizona Republicans will likely introduce legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona - and thus American citizens according to the U.S. Constitution - to parents who are not legal U.S. citizens. The law largely is the brainchild of state Sen. Russell Pearce, a Republican whose suburban district, Mesa, is considered the conservative bastion of the Phoenix political scene. He is a leading architect of the Arizona law that sparked outrage throughout the country: Senate Bill 1070, which allows law enforcement officers to ask about someone’s immigration status during a traffic stop, detainment or arrest if reasonable suspicion exists - things like poor English skills, acting nervous or avoiding eye contact during a traffic stop.

But the likely new bill is for the kids. While SB 1070 essentially requires of-age migrants to have the proper citizenship paperwork, the potential “anchor baby” bill blocks the next generation from ever being able to obtain it. The idea is to make the citizenship process so difficult that illegal immigrants pull up the “anchor” and leave.

Could we please stop with all the politically correct nonsense? It only shows stupidity.

Anchor baby is NOT offensive, it is simply the easiest way for criminals to have a better chance of getting benefits. “Undocumented” is illegal, plain, flat and simple.

“UnConstitutional” also means illegal—and a shitload more illegal than “undocumented”.  I can live with “undocumented”.  None of us can live with “UnConstitutional”.

Nothing is sacred to the racist fascist bastards. Not the Bill of Rights, not the 14th Amendment.

Thanks for answering my questions. And I’m pretty it’s called hypocrisy when you personally attack me for personally attacking you.

By the way, why do you take my asking about your sexual orientation as an insult? Are you homophobic? Or was it my response to your remark that only you had a corner on “facts”?

Rico esort to personal attacks when you’re unable to determine the difference between fact and thoughts which is mindlessness. How very Repubican of you. And it’s just a tad that you know. Your classes in biology overlooked what the function of what and how to use the human brain. As for your phony claim of higher education,  it’s apparent that’s not a fact just your thought.

Anchor babies,
yes livinging Mexico 20 years, gives me a different pespective. A lot I mean alot of Rich Mexicans or Gov`t officials, wife 6 months to 7 months what ever the airline rules let go by. Have the baby in San Antonio Texas I week if no complications and back to Mexico. I do not approve of this, the child beleives growing up that being a Mexican is just not good enough, identity problem “I am born in America but I`m a Mexican, I ask are you not proud of what you are you have to have paperwork saying your something else. Just Mexican isn`t good enough? Plus bring all the family eventually to USA. When I think about it, I get a bad feeling. Many years ago the Soviets used to produce anchor babies and train them for internal terrorism, anchor babies taught in Madrassas like the 19 year old, dead turk, born in USA And left at 2 years old, Madrassa starts at 5 by 19 he qualifies for suicide bombing. I beleive the first Islamic suicide bomb in America or Canada, will be an anchor baby, say no to anchor babies, it might save your life!

You big showoff! What does knowing the history of gestation have to do with abortion? I have a degree in biology. I know a tad about gestation.

You seem to be bashing males. You’re not a lesbian are you? Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

“unable and not even knowing that your thoughts and the thoughts of others are not facts.” Must be nice to have a corner on the “facts” market. No one else but you thinks “facts”. You must be God!

rico suave, you’re neither smooth or rich. Next time you get pregnant let me know and we’ll cast you with Danny Devito, and Arnold in a movie. I suggest you learn the history of gestation before dispalying you’re ignorance about something you cannot experience. FYI, males can’t get over the fact of the ovum, only revealed about 150 years ago although it has existed since life has. You see, sperm is not the seed merely the fertilizer. Until 150 years ago it was construed to be the seed for life thereby empowering the male to dominate women. Anyway, you’re just a fool, who shoots off its mouth, typical mindlessness, the inability to discern thoughts from facts. You’re just ignorant, unable and not even knowing that your thoughts and the thoughts of others are not facts.

You cannot give an inch to Conservatives. You saw what they did to the Constitution following 9/11. As Clemenza said in The Godfather, “You gotta stop ‘em at the beginning.”

“the abusing of newborns is right up their alley.”

As opposed to the abusing of “almost” newborns, which is right up the Democrats’ alley.

A State has no authority to determine or withhold citizenship for any American. It is the USG THAT can in anyway determine citizenship and it can only be withdrawn by the person, according to the SCOTUS. But you know that Republican are tough guy and the abusing of newborns is right up their alley.

Since when is that problem limited to Mexicans? You address a much bigger issue, which is the War on Drugs. Mood altering substances has become synonymous with criminal activity, thanks to the governemnt.

It ain’t just the Mexicans, Central and South
Americans slithering over the border defecating anchor
babies.  I used to work in a doctor’s office.  A so-
called charity called NYANYA sponsored people from
Georgia,Uzbekistan, and other former Soviet satellites
claiming they couldn’t practice their Jewish faith.
The young women, when not getting a full ride to
attend the top high schools/colleges of their choice,
got pregnant at the drop of a hat.  Not unlike people
from Europe,India/Pakistan/Bangladesh,various sub-
Saharan African countries,
Canada/UK/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand who come here,
overstay their student/tourist visas and get on the
anchorbaby train to plant themselves here.  Deport
them all, including the fake liberals trying to keep
them here.

Children of illegal aliens are a problem, but not in the context of this article.  First generation illegal immigrants are for the most part hard working individuals looking to better their lives.  However, their kids, disproportionately, turn to drugs and crime and that becomes a future problem and concern.

I can’t address the situation in Arizona, however, where I live, Mexicans pick our crops, cook our food (in restaurants), cut our lawns, and build our houses. I have been in the construction business for 30 years. You can’t find a decent drywall installer that isn’t Mexican. The fact is, they show up for work, every day, sober, work their asses off, do what they are told, and don’t complain. If I didn’t do so much custom work, I would prefer a crew of Mexicans, and not because I could pay them less, but because they are reliable.

We should have an open borders policy. The same policy that allowed almost all of my great grandparents to enter this country around the turn of the century. However, many countries are finding out that you can’t have an open borders policy and social welfare programs. There would need to be, say, a five year deferment, or something. Actually, most social welfare programs in this country need to be changed. Welfare is a trap, and it discourages people from being productive members of society. But that’s another issue for another thread.

I knew someone whose mother did this:  she was living and working in the US illegally and would get pregnant.  She’d have the baby in a local (US) hospital, get the birth certificate, get the kid on the public dole cuz she clearly couldn’t maintain her family on a house-cleaner’s under-the-table wage, and then SHIP THE BABY BACK TO MEXICO, collecting Wellfare the whole time!  She did this FOUR times!

So she wasn’t paying into the system with income tax, but boy was she reaping the benefits!

Yeah, I’d give them a hard time.  For one thing, if the kid doesn’t even reside in the US—why would you give it public assistance?

Well, sir, it seems to me that if a person openly
defies the United States Constitution, they should
not be considered an American, and should not be
allowed to enjoy the many benefits of this great

We should amend Immigration Law indeed, so that
people like Russell Pearce, who openly disobey the
Constitution, have their citizenship revoked.

America for Americans!

This is what doesn’t sound right here about arizona.  First of all,
the american msm is not about to start reporting facts about
what is happening in arizona to cause the government to laws
for being able to detect ILLEGAL AND UNDOCUMENTED
immigrants and aliens(not those from space, they are so far
intellectually advanced they know better than to ‘immigrate to

But I rather think and I have seen it obscurely reported about he
drain on the public services because of the illegals. And not to
mention the drug violence that is coming from across the border
and not with standing the complicity of america in aiding and
abetting amongst other things ‘gun running’. But when a bunch
of people from another country(mexico) can get access to high
speed motor boats, cross the border in a lake near zapata,
texass and run drugs and are now holding up fishermen on the
lake for their money, I would say that some rather radical action
should be taken by any of the border states or we can just turn
the u.s.a over to mexico and let them run it.

I believe that if illegal and undocumented people come here to
have kids so that in the hopes of that kid being an american
citizen will allow that family and any others into the states to set
up their burgeoning baby farms, then yes, strip the kids
citizenship and pack them back off to mexico and let them stand
in line for the next round of LEGAL immigration. Really nothing
wrong at all in trying to protect what is left of the services for
the citizens of THIS country.

Want to really fix this and the other problems of this world?
Figure out how to stop and fix this runaway unfettered growth of
humans on this planet, that is a very real and very big problem.

When will America stand up and begin to make decisions that have a semblance of integrity and a pinch of morality.  It is embarrassing for me to even mention Arizona to my grandchildren. I love my America but it is getting harder and harder to embrace.
