Palestinian demonstrators from the village of Billin dressed as figures from the movie “Avatar” during a protest against Israel’s separation barrier near Ramallah.

Some Palestinians in Billin, the West Bank town famous for its civil disobedience, have taken a cue from the movie “Avatar.” Demonstrators have painted themselves blue, citing a parallel between their cause and that of the film’s indigenous protagonists, who fight against a foreign occupying force. —JCL

Palestinian protesters painted themselves blue and dress up as Na’vi from Avatar in protest of [...] Israel’s separation barrier near the village of Billin. Protest demonstrators painted themselves blue, donned long hair and slipped into loincloths in accord with the look of the Na’vi from James Cameron’s Avatar.

Israel insists the barrier is necessary for the nation’s security while Palestinians consider it a scheme to steal land.

Palestinian protesters parallel their endeavour to that of the Na’vi fighting for their land and culture drawing similarities to the plot of the #1 grossing film of all time as altercations with Israeli security forces often involve stones and tear gas.

This is smack of being an Israeli fabrication depicting “healthy and well fed” Palestininan girls.
Palestinian girls WOULD’NT and DARE NOT to parade in mini mini skirts that almost show their panties.
The palistinian people is suffering under the brutality of the Israeli occupation with its accompanied blockades and shortages and the palestinians don’t have the desire or the resources for such nonsense.

This is a good way to point out the environmental issues of building walls such as these. The placement of the wall is often a land grab opportunity- where putting a wall on the top of hill is better than at the base for example. We are trying to do the same with the stupid border fence.
Bravo for some good visual non violent protesting - I hope it inspires more of the same both here and there.
