Arizona Passes Harsh Anti-Immigration BillPosted on Apr 14, 2010
It’s a sad day for anyone who is not a xenophobic, anti-immigrant militant: Arizona has passed the harshest anti-immigrant bill in the country, giving police the authority to detain anyone on “reasonable suspicion” that they are in the country illegally and arrest them if they don’t have papers. The bill, which has been the focus of criticism by pro-immigrant and human rights groups, is aimed at forcing immigrants without documents out of the state. Like most anti-immigration policy, it will also make life more dangerous for immigrants who come to the U.S. out of economic necessity. The constitutionality of the bill is also dubious, as immigration issues traditionally are dealt at the federal level, not the state. —JCL

Heck no…make them all go back and stay there. If they become a part of our nation, we will surely be paying for their rearends and we are in enough trouble as it is. We need to get our noses out of everyone elses business and take care of our own for a change. Send the criminals back and shoot them if they try and come across again.

if you immigrate to another country you should do it by the proper process and if you dont then you should be deported simple as that.

What constitutes papers? Now they will have to pass a law that everybody must carry official ID or face a fine and/or imprisonment. I can see a big business in phony documents.

“Xenophobes”???
Exactly how much of the entire world’s population do you folks expect we can feed, educate, imprison, treat medically and clean up after? She would allow Mexicans unfettered access for the same reason “men climb mountains”? “Because they are there”? Aren’t you discriminating against Central and South Americans or do they get unfettered access to our tax money too? How about all of Europe, Scandinavia and Zimbabwe? Is there ANY POINT WHATSOEVER at which you realize we can not support the whole world, especially “the third world” without becoming part of it?

These xenophobes can’t even stand to look at their own image in the mirror!
I wonder how the indigenous population, the Indians, these occupiers have rounded up onto reservations, feel about this? No doubt, their ideas on expulsion would be quite different!

It’s questionable of the author to say “the constitutionality of the bill is also dubious, as immigration issues traditionally are dealt at the federal level, not the state” because the Constitution explicitly says that any power not specifically granted to the national government resides with the states.
The only thing the author mentioned was “tradition” not a specific clause or power enumerated in the Constitution. Just saying…

Brittanicus - “the real truth” is that Bear Stearns who had no political axe to grind on this issue put the figure well over 30 million several years ago and by now the figure is surely much higher. Those who talk about racism are morons because if we had 30 million plus impoverished blue eyed blond Swedish immigrants driving down wages and destroying our social institutions, cramming our jails, causing a resurgence in diseases that were all but eradicated in the US and committing a disproportionate number of crimes, those of us who want to close the border would feel just the same. None the less, these brain dead guilt ridden liberal dunderheads can not think beyond skin color and thus give anyone who is not Caucasian a free pass to do anything because to not do so could only be racist and so we continue living in fear of being called that most dreaded of all terms and continue supporting an astronomically wealthy Mexican aristocracy in their lust for Caviar and Champagne with our tax dollars and keep the drug cartels in business. We are dumber than hammers.

I predict that American citizens, who are Latinos, will be hassled by the police in this program. I fear for my son, who lives in Phoenix and plays Flamenco and Latin music. We are from New Mexico and our family came to New Mexico in 1598, 22 years before the Mayflower landed. Some cracker cop could possibly pick my son up and arrest him (he has a pony tail and doesn’t carry proof of his U.S. citizenship - do you?). So he could find himself deported to Mexico. It’s happened before to Latinos, back in the 1930s and 1950s. It will happen again. Fuck Arizona (which used to be part of the New Mexico territory, before the gringos there insisted on separating because there were too many Mexicans in Nuevo Mexico). My son already complains of the racism there and it is getting worse.

The real truth is that there are over 20 million plus illegal aliens in this nation. They have all spat on our sovereign laws, our flag, and our constitution to break into America. Then demonstrate in our streets, branding foreign flags and demand their Civil rights. The intention was there, no matter the cause to enter America without means of financial support. The cesspool of businesses that employed foreigners, rather than a US citizen-resident cannot be forgiven and there should be a composite of heavy fines, business asset confiscation and imprisonment? There should be no conciliation for gainfully profiting on the backs of their own people? An estimated eight million foreign nationals have jobs, while the number of Americans seeking work is over 15 million and still accelerating.
Another grand travesty is that the US State Department issues approximately 1.5 million work visas annually. I agree as the majority of Americans that we can always make room for highly intelligent, skilled workers that can be elusive commodity in our country. But what we—DON’T—need are mediocre immigrant job seekers from other lands that our own workforce must teach job skills, before those employees receive a pink slip. Immigration attorneys have been proven time and time again on fudging a person’s qualifications, to import into this country, large contingents of low skilled legal immigrants from countries with impoverished wages. The biggest issue here businesses cut jobs, and the low skilled are the first to go. That means the taxpayer becomes the payee of hundreds of thousands of people, who ultimately end up in the government entitlement programs.
The E-Verify program with successful modifications could be used to disclose illegal immigrants, defrauding the welfare benefits system. ICE should recycle audits and even make lightening raids on previously visited companies. E-Verify must be instigated permanently and not a voluntary illegal alien reducer in auto licenses, vehicle registration, health care and other pertinent identification processes. Whereas the highly, technically skilled soon find a new employer. The real $ cost of the illegal alien invasion has remained intentionally undisclosed by our Senators and Congressman. Few states admit the expenditures, especially California?
Arizona legislators have seen the financially errors caused by blanket immigration to that state. Finally it will be signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer, the most restrictive measures to give law enforcement the ability to question any individual they deem as suspicious of illegal entry. Condemnation is already appearing from the National media generated by the open border advocacy organizations.ONE THINGS FOR SURE, THAT IF THE PEOPLE OF ARIZONA DIDN’T WANT THIS LAW PASSED? IT WOULD NEVER EVEN HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED? Illegal immigration has become a nationwide battleground and the economic aspect it, would pay for all our foreign wars? Arizona illegal immigrants who realize their time is up, will now flood California as there is no enforcement there. That why the Sanctuary State has massive deficits? Years of complete and utter irrelevance has allowed this illegal occupation to happen.
To even consider another mass amnesty is beyond outrageous, beyond anything comprehensible. Our Lawmakers, who are subservient to the moneyed open border lobbyists or the radical ethnocentric organizations, WILL BE REMEMBERED IN UPCOMING ELECTIONS. Sen. Harry Reid, the Amnesty incumbent will be removed. Unless the high population of illegal aliens in Nevada vote for him? Yes! They will vote. A growing list of pro-amnesty, anti-sovereignty politicians is visible at NumbersUSA. TO RECAP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IS ONLY SEEN TO WORK? IN FACT IT HAS NEVER BEEN ENFORCED. WE HAVE BEEN CHEATED FOR DECADES?

On the Constitutionality grounds, I think that 4th
amendment issues would be a better challenge. The
police don’t have the right to stop people randomly
and demand papers. Especially if they’re going to be
combining it with racial profiling.

How is it that these so called progressives feel sorry for immigrants but not for Americans who have seen their income shrink to nothing due to illegal labor, who have seen Mexican slave laborers drive meat packing from the highest paid job in the industrial sector to the lowest, who have imported crime and diseases that are resistant to anti-bio tics by bypassing our immigration system? How is it that these so called progressives watch an astronomically rich Mexican aristocracy sip champagne and eat caviar at the expense of our tax payers and then dare speak about “cheap strawberries”? Some of you people are so fugging stupid you should be mercy killed in your sleep for your own good and ours.
