The archbishop of Canterbury made his comments while lecturing on the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, shown here in a stencil image.

The archbishop of Canterbury has some choice words for Tony Blair. The public intellectual criticized Blair’s lack of empathy and his defensive posturing regarding recent inquiries into the Iraq war, declaring the former prime minister to be “one of the most un-Dostoevskian characters in Britain.” Ouch.

The Guardian:

The archbishop of Canterbury has renewed his criticism of Tony Blair by urging the former prime minister to recognise his “absurdity” in the wake of the Chilcot inquiry into the Iraq war — and suggesting he read more Dostoevsky.

Repeating a previous quip that Blair is “very strong on God, very weak on irony”, Rowan Williams said the former prime minister had perhaps not done enough soul-searching.

I for one wish to see Blair pay for his lies and deception which didn’t stop at total destruction of Iraq, once a prosprous country, but mocked the intelligence of all decent people.I remember the Kewaiti girl testifying before the Senate on the alleged crimes committed by Iraqi soldres against Kwaitis. It was almost near perfect play, with the girl describing how she witnessed Iraqis preventing infents from getting the necessary oxegen and how they were thown off their incubators. All Senators attending the farce were voleuntarily inclined to believe every word as long as it incriminate Iraq. The irony was that, the girl who claimed to witness all those atrocities was none but the daughter of the Kwaiti embassedor to the US,and had never been to Kwait for more than three years, yet none of the Honorable Senators had the decency verify or sbstantiate her narrative.Shame on humaity should Blair go an accounted for the crimes he committed against humanity.

Blair should confess and repent. Then he should testify against Bush and Cheney at the the war crimes trial. They then should all be taken to Iraq and given just punishment whatever the Iraqi people decide.
