Approval of Congress Skyrockets to 13 Percent

Thirteen percent of adults approve of the job Congress is doing, according to Gallup, but things could be worse.

In November, lawmakers scored an all-time low of 9 percent (Gallup has been tracking congressional job approval since 1974).

According to the pollsters, “Congressional approval has rarely been 20% or higher in the last three years.”

With numbers like that, it’s a wonder voters don’t fire their representatives. Ah, but that’s a different matter. Polls tend to show that voters like their members of Congress just fine—it’s yours they can’t stand.

It’s a tribute to gerrymandering—and an advertisement for term limits.
