On Monday, Apple engaged in another round of Dubious App Politics by pulling a WikiLeaks application for the iPhone and iPad from the iTunes app store after offering it for a mere three days, according to The New York Times.

The New York Times:

Trudy Muller, an Apple spokeswoman, said the company had removed the app “because it violated our developer guidelines.” Ms. Muller added: “Apps must comply with all local laws and may not put an individual or group in harm’s way.”

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

From Lawrence Britt’s “14 Characteristics of Fascism”:

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause. The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

6. Controlled Mass Media. Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security. Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

From Naomi Klein’s “Fascism in 10 Easy Steps”:

7. Target ket individuals.
8. Control the Press.
9. Dissent equals Treason

When was Steve Jobs every cool?  He has been a major national jerk forever.  Apparently that’s one of the requirements for being a prominent leader in the computer industry—see Bill Gates.

Interesting.  What is it exactly that they mean by the word ‘Harm.’
That said.  I think I just got a cold chill on my neck from the implications this will
have as we get further into this new war being waged against the citizens who are
interested in preserving liberty by upholding their patriotic duty of being an
informed public.

Amazingly Rupert Murdoch can distort, lie, and spew garbage on his TV stations
and Newspapers and not a thing is said.  Wikileaks prints the truth and the nation
goes nuts.

apple, mastercard, visa, b of a, paypal, etc…  all the same uSSa fascist corporate imperialist vermin.

twitter, facebook and others (google heh !?!) going full blast during fake colored revolutions… but when the crimes of the empire are exposed (ever so superficially and with kid gloves)...  the tune changes.

C’mon, wake up, we are the furthest thing away from Liberty.  Time to choose sides, lest you’re willing to live (or die) with what’s coming (once started, these type of trends we’re living thru now always end up the same way; open your eyes wide shut).

boycott their crummy (and overpriced) products, sabotage anything linked to them that you can, do more if you can.  Don’t organize, you’ll be infiltrated.  Be creative…  and radical, copycats and new variations will follow.

the rotten system is incredibly vulnerable at all levels if you stop a second and think about it.

enough of this BS.

For those not willing to go so far…  China, please offer alternatives to all these products and services.

they didn’t want us to be citizens but consumers?

fine!

China, please help us show them the west has lost and is cooked.

But then again, if you really think about it…  deep down there’s only one solution:

bring back the guillotines!

Let’s decorate all the trees with new types of ornaments of those who are the ones who brought this all about.

There’s no other way.

For every action, there is a reaction.

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.”—JFK

Apple knows that revealing the truth about corporate doings is putting “a group” near and dear to them, “in harm’s way.”  Stay tuned for the corporate leaks…
