Anyone for a Little Immigration Reform?Posted on Mar 19, 2010
Congress is expected to vote on health care reform this weekend, so what’ll all those senators and representatives have to busy their idle hands with next? Giving Wall Street the what for? Not likely. Well, how about a big debate on immigration? If the thousands of people who reportedly plan to descend upon Washington on Sunday succeed in prodding elected officials to take up the cause, immigration reform may rise a notch or two on Congress’ to-do list, which probably would lead to the re-emergence of Lou Dobbs on the national scene. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. —KA

It fits our needs perfectly the advantage of immigration reform on the country: Greater supply of unskilled workers, a younger workforce, and skilled workers in needed sectors. But there is also a disadvantage of immigration reform like Greater poverty, more educational cost, lower unskilled wage levels, and increased danger of terrorism. Thanks to the post!

If all the illegals are provided a road to citizenship it should only be done with 2 conditions: 1. the border is sealed tight; and, 2. a hold is put on future legal immigration for the nationalities that are granted citizenship.
It is simply not fair that people around the world are waiting for an opportunity to enter the U.S. while those that have broken the law are rewarded. And everyone knows that once a person is granted legal status they’ll want their uncles, aunts, children, cousins etc. to come to
Report thisAmerica as well. Therefore, in the future immigration should be open to groups othner than Latinos and Asians, the two groups that make up the greatest number of illegals. Perhaps that will put some pressure on the Mexicans and Central American countries to prevent illegal immigration. The gates should be opened to Eastern Europeans, Africans, etc.

What? May I suggest that you google “unemployment” to discuss the millions of excess laborers in the USA with no jobs. You may substitute “cheap labor needed” but that’s only because U.S. corporations don’t want to pay more than the minimum wage.

2010- If Mexico had a popular uprising it would help slow down the mass illegal immigration caused by the nation’s current, dire situation.

Once again, no where in the immigration discussion
Report thisare unjust trade agreements that forced millions of
Mexicans off their land, leaving them not even a
ten by ten to grow a little food. That not enough jobs
were produced by NAFTA to replace the millions removed
and that many of those jobs have disappeared to China.
That even the writers of NAFTA predicted a million
migration within the FIRST year of its implementation and
has been millions more since.. that all the small farmers
were run off their land with no place to go to get food
that now ,instead of exporting corn they are forced to
but our genetically engineered crap so their land may be
used to grow flowers for our funerals and weddings and
that now in order to eat they have to steal accross the
border to eat food that was grown in Mexico ,but all this
will be once again ignored as Americans are so good
at blaming victims and not the root of a problem.
Immigration reform will serve to stir the public attention
to blaming victims as they escalate resource wars, blame
the violence in mexico all on drugs, and gear up for
another round of American comic campaign elections.

Big problem—but what do you expect:
1. Rich country nextdoor to poor country.
2. Labor needed in rich country, no jobs in poor country.
3. Rich country stole best part of poor country’s land by military force in the first place.
4. Rich country thinks it is “white” and poor countries are “non-white”—race prejudice.
5. Many language, cultural, historical differences and misunderstandings, unconscious resentments.
6. Rich country fears it is “losing its grip” on a lot of things besides immigration. Immigrants are easy scapegoats because they can’t defend themselves due to their own extreme neediness.
7. In order to get rich and stay rich, rich country had to steel itself against poor people by believing poor people “deserve” to be poor and it’s wrong to help them because they don’t “deserve” it.
8. Orthodox Catholic Church has not helped matters because, using two faces, it avoids facing issues: Rich Vatican etc. versus ignorant masses of people to be “saved” by love of poor Jesus and Mary.
9. Manipulation of immigration “problem” by capitalist inevitablities—cheap labor etc.
10. What did I miss?
PS—If you think health care was a fight, wait till this one comes up. Poor Obama! Was there ever a president who faced so many curve balls coming at him so fast? I doubt it, frankly.

Wall Street wants “immigration reform,” which is why it might pass, despite huge opposition from working class Americans who see it as a further attempt to flood the nation with cheap labor to drive down wages. We have millions of people on the waiting list to legally immigrate, who have filled out papers, paid fees, undergone background checks, and taken physicals. Will the USA screw them and say they should have snuck across and used fake papers to get job.

I agree with a system to import highly skilled workers, scientists, engineers and real PH.d. But we cannot afford to bring in to this country, those who end up on the bread line, expecting American taxpayers to cover their economic problems? The majority that have intentionally slipped through our laughable border defense, through airport control are here to take unfair advantage of Taxpayers. This is displayed negatively in states like New York, Arizona and the refuge illegal alien state of California. California has become a welcoming government welfare state for illegal single females with their infants and millions of others, have sponged off the citizens and legal residents for decades. The Golden State of California is in a state of near—BANKRUPTCY—with other states not far behind.
Behind closed doors away from prying eyes of the general public the cards are already stacked against us. As we have seen E-Verify nearly ended up on the funeral pyre, as with the police apprehension law 287(g). Ice raids have already slowed down and the No-Match letter to employers rescinded. Behind our backs Homeland Security Madam Napolitano has cut budgets for the fence and other needed enforcement. Probably to patronize Mexico whose majority of poor, uneducated population is moving here. If they add-FAMILY UNIFICATION-to the reform, the numbers of family members approval will reach at least 60 million more people to America? This will and and multiply in OVERPOPULATION GROWTH by 2040. Just look around you know at the overcrowded cities, collapsing infrastructure and diminishing livelihood resources? This is to deal with the illegal issue. Americans welcome everybody no matter the color of their skin if they do not violate immigration laws. THIS IS NOT A RACIST PROBLEM-ITS AN FINANCIAL ISSUE.
If the Fence had been built to the original specifications, with the wide space in between for agent reconnaissance, very few individuals or groups of illegal aliens, drug smugglers, traffickers, terrorists and other criminals would be caught. IN TRUTH THE ONLY LAW THAT WOULD STOP THE ILLEGAL ALIEN INVASION FOR GOOD, IS MAKING ENTRY A FELONY?. NumbersUSA for the real truth.
The US government lied to us yet again. The fence that we see in video’s is not the original construction designed by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) Initially his concept was a two-layer fence barrier, that had a no-mans-land in between. It gave the US Border Patrol vehicles rapid transit across the miles, of open desert. Like all forms of serious immigration enforcement it was underfunded by Sen. Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi and a whole bunch of corrupt politicians, on either side of the aisle. Its all to do with corporate welfare. From any distance all these immigration tools, are—ONLY SEEN TO WORK?
In truth these morons undermine, compromise any system that actually has a chance of functioning. Its has been a bargaining chip for Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez who mysteriously changed his mind for voting the President Obama health Care Reform, after the man in the White House committed himself to another illegal immigrant AMNESTY. If Amnesty passes the American taxpayer is going to be in a whole world of financial hurt. I am already paying my share for foreign wars and yet the IRS will extort money from Americans to support illegal immigrants? Remember today that illegal immigration rallies start, so help stop this travesty and contact your Washington Representative at 202-224-3121

What utter bosh! Sounds like the reason we can’t have health care is because of illegal immigrants!
How low tan America stoop? It’s only willing to support health care for all if it can turn a blind eye and let its “illegal” farm workers and their kids die in the fields and on the street?
Did I really read this aright? Or am I having a another nightmare?
P.S. And how about all those billions of dollars wasted year after year on the millitary, killing our soldiers and innocent people in Afghanistan, Pakistan—and where else?
