Preliminary census data show that America’s melting pot is meltier than ever, with racial minorities now making up more than one-third of the nation’s population. Pretty soon the “minorities” will be in the majority, as they are in four states (California, New Mexico, Hawaii and Texas, where everything is bigger, anyway).

AP reports that a Latino baby boom, the aging of baby boomers and an increase in multiracial Americans are responsible for the trend. And then there are the paranoid and overwhelmingly white tea partiers who went into hiding. That must account for at least a couple dozen fewer Caucasians showing up in the census, no?  —PZS

AP:

New Census estimates show minorities added more than 2 percent in 2009 to 107.2 million people, boosted by a surge in Hispanic births and more people who described themselves as multiracial. During this time, the white population remained flat, making up roughly 199.9 million, or 65 percent, of the country.

By comparison, whites comprised 69 percent of the total population in 2000, and minorities 31 percent.

Are you trying to say you can get better medical care here than anywhere else in the world?! Who could have imagined such a thing?

Having lived outside the USA for several years in societies where whites were the minority I found none of the hostility that people of color experience in this country. The advantage to being of a majority race is a sense of security no matter whereone goes and that includes the USA. Africans and West Indians come to this country and are more successful than their white counterparts because deep in their psyche they are secure despite racism they encounter and they are aware of it. Many turn it into a game and play the whites whom don’t knowthey are being played. A distinction has to be made between Mexican Americans. chicano’s[there ae no chicano’s in Mexico] and Mexican nationals whom know they are better off here than there. They also have a sense of security because they have experienced being of the majority race. Finally, I’v found that the USA lacks dignity and that the so called poor people in other countries is where dignity exists, certainly not in the self appointed leaders of this country. Do Cheney, Bush, Clinton’s, SCOTUS, and the criminal Wall St. bankers, or the Zionists, christian and Jewish, have dignity. NO! Pride is expressed as the pinnacle conduct but all the major philosophies, Christianity, Muslim, Buddhism, Hindusim disdain pridefullness because it is the lowest level of mindlessness for human. If not for medical reasons I would move outside the country. I like being an American,it’s just not the best place to live.

More diverse = Less white. Isn’t celebrating that “racist”? No, of course not. Racism is “cute” when it’s against white people, right? And it’s not hypocrisy…because you say so!

Oh yes, we should celebrate this, being surrounded by hate filled nonwhites who have been spoon fed the doctrine of “Whitey is the root of all of your problems” from cradle to grave. I’m sure they’ll be kind enough to build us some nice death camps. Can’t wait.

And when they turn this country into the exact came kind of 3rd world sh!thole they came from, I hope you’re still around to reflect on how idiotic an article you wrote praising such an unfortunate development.

I was going to add to my last post a comment about rock fever and how you lasted so long! My sister lived there in the early 70s doing a masters at U. Hi. She cracked up after about three years. Had to get back to Penna.

And Primo to Budweiser! Now THAT’s tragedy!!

Senior Suave, maybe rico! Groups of people I know it
is rare but Hawaii is the most Isolated islands, 3000
miles from anywhere, so rock fever keeps the
population changing. When I first got there Only one
traffic light in all of Honolulu, most bld. made of
wood, yes I watch Waikiki go from wood to concrete,
from Primo beer to budweizer. And people of Hawaii,
do hang on to their separate cultural identity but
they do not force it or put it in your face like the
Muslim Clan. Privacy is respected, neighbours watch
each other and if you do something stupid, your on an
island, no where to hide or leave, everyone knows
everyone, behind closed doors your house, property
your left alone, Hawaiians are proud people, yes they
would love for everyone to leave, *not the girls*,
but knowing reality the Hawaiian does well in
Tourism! He never feels like an American but only a
HAWAIIAN!

I lived in Hawaii almost 20 years and minority was
always the Hawaiian, who came with the land. Very
very few Mexicans in Hawaii and Blacks mostly
military or University of Hawaii so to count them
Jap./Hawn/chinese/phillipinoes/samoan/tongan and
WHITE, yes melting pot where everyone maintains their
own personal cultural identity, and hopes to get
along. Sixties and Seventies, Hawn/Aloha experience
was not fined tuned to tourism. Dole pineapple closed
down all other industry went elsewhere sugar cane and
bananas etc, TOURISM became the ONLY industry which
FORCED everyone to be NICE to each other and the
weekly stranger! ALOHA Keikies! Arizona is very
different than 3000 miles into the Pacific Ocean,
lucky Mexicans are not nearly as
BiG as HAWN/SAMOANS.

How many Arizona lawmakers were interviewed for this piece? And how did they individually feel about the issue of “diversity”?

Was the immigration law they passed about limiting diversity, or about illegal immigration? They are mutually exclusive issues after all.

What a moronic headline.

I always thought that “melting pot” was about the ingredients melting together. You know, where immigrants from different countries came here and became “Americans”. The counting of different groups as varying sized wedges on a pie chart has nothing to do with “melting” and we are absolutely not becoming “meltier”, we are becoming less.

I’m beginning to feel that lots of people consider the term “American” is right wing wacko code for anti-immigrant.

Well this is a crisis and Arizona and other states have to do the obvious and criminalize diversity. Furthermore, their needs to be a constitutional amendment to make diverity unconstitutional with a death penalty. All babies born will have to have their DNA tested for the “diversity” gnome and infanticide needs to be invoked on the infant should it fail not being diverse.

Rather an interesting idea when you understand that many of the families having many children do not have any insurance nor do they pay for all the things. For many in the U.S. the size of the family is dependent upon the income that one earns and not on all the social handouts.
The illegal immigrant and those that are here on some type of visa do not have health insurance, much preferring to use the emergency rooms as their only source for healthcare. There, they have to be seen and then directed to social programs where they will pay nothing for natal care. After the children are born, the family takes many other things from the social programs and paying nothing in return. The food is free using food stamps, healthcare is taken care of and someone in the family can work as long as they are not mentioned to the social services.

With this type of set-up available, income no longer determines size of family. With many immigrants, legal or not, coming from countries where infant and child mortality is high, they are used to having very large families. Then coming to a country where that mortality is very low, and the free services, of course they will overpopulate within a generation or two.
