With 2012 buzz building about Sarah Palin, it seems only fitting, not to mention inevitable, that Minnesota’s own tea party darling, the dependably batty Rep. Michele Bachmann, would also be the subject of speculation about a possible charge at the White House.  —KA

CNN:

Washington (CNN) - Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is increasingly serious about joining the wide-open race for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
And a growing number of conservative activists, legislators and political operatives in key states stand ready to help her if she does.

Bachmann, the chairwoman of the House Tea Party Caucus, arrives in New Hampshire on Friday for a two-day barnstorm of the first-in-the-nation primary state, her first foray there since floating her potential White House candidacy back in January.

News of the trip immediately stirred up grassroots excitement: A Bachmann-headlined fundraiser Saturday for the New Hampshire GOP was re-located to a larger venue because of “a very strong initial interest in this event,” according to a state party official.

I would vote for Bachman just to watch all the socialists and communists flee the country.

The reason is the vast majority of Americans favor free enterprise and personal liberty. Arthur Brooks of the American Enterprise Institute in his book The Battle offers a figure that roughly approximates other studies, 70 percent to 30 percent. The Republicans just took the House of Representatives by more than 60 seats and gained 6 seats in the Senate, abetted by conservatism’s latest newcomers, the Tea Party movement. The social democrat in the White House has been denied his majority by a rout. Fully 42 percent of the electorate is conservative. Of the 29 percent that is independent, 56 percent went with the Republicans in this election over the economy and jobs. Liberals account for 20 percent of the vote. This spread—42 percent conservative, 20 percent Liberal—has pretty much endured for 30 years! Think of that when you recall all those obituarists writing about the death of conservatism but two years ago.
Over the past two years the Democrats showed their true colors. Faced with an entitlement crisis, they actually rang up additional trillion-dollar deficits. We now face the entitlement crisis and a budget crisis, and the Liberals have no answer for it beyond tax and spend. They still have support in the media, but even here they are faced with opposition from Fox News, talk radio, and the Internet. Even the Europeans are facing up to the cost of the welfare state, but the Liberals can only spend and tax, though their taxes appear futile against our towering debt.
As a political movement Liberalism is dead. Its acolytes do not have the numbers. They do not have the policies. They have 23 seats in the Senate to defend in 2012 (against the Republicans’ 10) and Republican control of still more state houses and legislatures will give them even more seats in the House of Representatives in the future. Liberalism, R.I.P. Even Liberals do not call themselves Liberal today. They identify themselves as Progressives. It is fooling no one.

If she were to run, it may be fun.
If she were to win, it would be awful.

If she were to win, I would seriously look for another country in which to live and
retire, for I could not abide being under an idiot president again. GWB was bad
enough.

This ding-bat would be even worse.

Bachmann is Barry and the DNC’s wet dream. As a matter of fact, the entire repug field has Barry wondering if he will have to campaign at all.

Of course, if your the repugs, why would you give two shits about replacing Barry? He has been one of the best repug presidents since Nixon. He lets the finance industry write its own regulations, lets big pharma write healthcare legislation, continues 2 illegal wars, and refuses to stop torturing people. He won’t come out in support of womens rights, unions, or gays. He sits blissfully on the fence waiting to see which way the wind blows, just like his hero’s Ronny and slick willy.

At a time when the nation desperately needed liberal leadership, he has proven to only be a mealy mouthed pragmatic fuck, devoid of ideas. Gutless swine!

The Bachmann, Palin, Gingrich, Huckabee, and like
minded candidates are just a substitute for the
candidate the Republicans really want. The Grand
Wizzard of the KKK holding the confederate flag. They
have come to take their country back.

Michelle Bachmann has to be one of the sickest people ever to be hired for
governing by the voters of Minnesotta.  The only ones worse are those who
voted for her.  Every time she opens her bold and brazen mouth, she displays
outrageous ignorance.  If she had any basic intelligence, she would be ashamed
of her ignorant displays.  But the history of humanity has been full of
Bachmanns.  There were the Roman emperors, even Constantine who exploited
Christianity for his political ends, ruled it, but never saw fit to accept baptism—
if he himself really accepted it—until he was on his death bed.  We have had
Hitlers, Mussolinis, Tojos, Husseins, and all those this so-called nation
promoted and still protects against all basic rights of humans in the Middle
East.  Israel is considered the greatest threat by others people in the Middle
East precisely because it holds the greatest military attack power.  And where
does Israel get that attack power?  From the United States that also makes Israel
the greatest recipient of its foreign aid each year.  We talk about arms control,
and we support Israel in its slaughter and colonizing of Palestinians, in its
nuclear to Iran.  And where did Israel obtain that nuclear power?  Its spies stole
it from the United States!  That makes one wonder if that nuclear transfer
wasn’t one more secret agreement between the United States and Israel and not
a theft at all.  Michelle Bachmann fits in with all this evil and madness perfectly.
She thinks her bold and brazen, pretty face and figure can seduce everyone?

I am increasingly convinced that ever since Fox News made a business out of politics that politicians (mostly conservatives, of course) have now found a way to make politics a business without breaking any laws. Palin and Gingrich are the most obvious examples of public figure, former politicians, who now make their money by pretending that they are still serious politicians.

Bachmann reminds me of a proto-Palin preparing the way for her own show on Fox News by becoming a national figure whether or not she actually runs for President.

I think it is a marvelous idea ... that she runs.

All the Replicant dingbats should do it. In that manner, they can collectively go down in flames.

What a beautiful sight that would make - a truly Magnificent Moment.

If you had any doubts about the decline and fall of the U.S., consider the possibility of a Bachmann/Gingrich ticket for the ‘12 presidential campaign. Any question about the GOPer’s perception of the ignorance of the American public? Consider Bachmann/Palin.
There is an easy way to avoid such possible catastrophes. Whether or not the republicans/tea baggers succeed in making all opposing presidential candidates show birth certificates, democrats and other parties should insist that all opposing presidential candidates show proof-of-mental-health certificates, thus eliminating the obvious potential debacles inherent in any Bachmann, et.al., campaign.
