Afghan security vehicles line up on a street near a Kunduz recruitment center after a bloody attack blamed on the Taliban.

Attacks on two Afghan military bases killed at least 13 members of the country’s security forces. One of the attacks, blamed on the Taliban, was against a training center on the outskirts of the capital, Kabul.  —JCL

The BBC:

Suicide attackers have targeted Afghan military bases in two cities, leaving 13 members of the security forces dead, along with at least five assailants.

In the northern city of Kunduz, suicide bombers stormed an army recruitment centre, sparking a long gun battle.

On the outskirts of Kabul, attackers ambushed an army bus outside the country’s main recruitment centre.

hello. am i supposed to care that this unending war has
been pushed out to 2014? do i care that mental people
in Afghanistan are blowing themselves up- probably high
on heroin? when the terrorists succeed at blowing up
GoldenSaks of cash, or the petrodollar summit: they
will have my attention. it all seems very contrived.
