American military officials reported that a suicide bomber killed nine U.S. soldiers and wounded 20 Monday.  The bomber detonated a car explosive close to the soldiers’ base in Diyala province, according to the Los Angeles Times.  Another American casualty was recorded in Muqdadiya the same day.

L.A. Times:

One Iraqi civilian also was wounded in the suicide bombing. Fifteen of the injured soldiers returned to duty after treatment.

The U.S. military also announced that an American soldier died Monday in Muqdadiya, northeast of Baghdad, when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb.

A British soldier was killed Monday in Basra, in southern Iraq, by small-arms fire.

The surge is working, the more dead the better things are. Just ask the President he will tell you that things are going just the way it is supposed to go.

Our world has since 9/11 become one of subterfuge and increasing fear. The Bush Administration clearly lied to the American public about the reasons for going to war. Since the declaration that weapons of mass destruction were located in Iraq, none have been found. A catastrophic waste of money, and the American people were betrayed. Fundamentally, we as a country, are a nation of rebels, fighting dearly for what matters most to us. But, in a war where there is no distinct enemy, we cannot battle in the same way. There is no military solution to a battle which must be waged on a humanitarian front. As Americans, we need a leader who will recognize that war is not the salve to put on the wound that was created when 3,000 Americans died in New York.  Poverty creates the terrorists and militants that continually emerge from the woodwork on a daily basis killing innocent people and our soldiers. In order to fight the war on terror, we need America to take off the war paint and put on our gloves. If we eliminate, through humanitarian efforts, the grounds for terrorism; our world can return be a safer place for all to live . The war needs to fought in a new way, and that we won’t stand for losing another Iraqi’s life or another brave American soldier. Not one more. End it now. There is another way to win.

no one wants to read about more loss of life; it’s tragic.  but let me remind you that the majority of our soldiers are STILL in the military because they want to be there.  No one is forcing them to serve. These soldiers have a patriotic duty they want to fufill… how do you think we’ve been able to maintian such a strong military force all these years? because of VOLUNTEERS. Think about it.  Just because “it’s not your war” and “I didn’t ask them to be there”... doesn’t mean that the soldiers who do serve feel they’re forced to be there.  Would you be so inclined to pull out of Afghanistan if the situation on the ground was like it is in Iraq?

Dying to feed a lunatics ego - it doesn’t get much sadder. Are you f**king paying attention Congress, because if there is a God, the dead should be haunting all of you now. How you scumbags sleep at night without being drugged must be “the” wonder of medical science. Oh sorry, I forgot you’re just f**king zombies in the day time when you’re serving(rare, medium or well done) the American people.

While politicians hem and haw, and debate and gaggle, people continue to die on all sides.

The problem is this - no one will be held accountable for the countless thousands upon thousands who have died.

The reality is clear - each and every innocent person in this horrible situation has been murdered - but the politicians reduce them to something less than human - a statistic.

When I first heard of this “Bold New War Strategy” I called it the “Custer strategy”.

To my knowledge, the rule has always been, when surrounded by an unknown number of beligerents never split your forces.

To achieve maximum protection from this threat you need to house your troops in larger harder bases.

This new brillient idea will cost us more losses than it will gain strategically.

I sometime think our military beaurocracy is staffed by fools.

bu$h says we need to let the military run the war. Truman said war is too important to let the military run it. I agree with Harry.

So what if nine Americans were killed?  George W. Bush will find nine more to take their place.  And so what if there are nine more funerals?  George W. Bush never attends them, anyway.

One at a time… nine at a time;they contnue to die amd be sacrified at the bloody altar of evil Bush and gang; all based on lies, deception and pure evil. When are Americans going to wake up in masses and do something about preserving both their blood and treasure?!

This is part of the new security plan. The soldiers were part of a Combat Outpost (COP). Basically, in an attempt to implement a plan that MAY have been a good idea back in 2003, we sent small groups of soldiers to live “among the people.” These soldiers typically live in a house in a neighborhood and are EXTREMELY susceptible to suicide attack.

This is the second suicide attack (just heard an explosion) against these COPs that has resulted in multiple soldiers killed/injured.

The President says, “send me a clean bill that I can sign.” Let him veto the Bill. It is time that the Congress stand up to this ninny. The American people voted to change the Congress over the War. Now it is time for them to act and do what is in the best interest of the American people. Bush isn’t man enough to admit that he made a mistake.
