U.S., France Slammed for Murder in Historical InquiriesPosted on Aug 7, 2008“Democracy Now!” reported Thursday on two separate stories that show being a Western democracy hardly makes you immune to serious allegations of war crimes. In one, the radio/TV show reports the conclusion by South Korea’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission that the U.S. military indiscriminately killed large groups of South Korean civilians during the Korean War. The other reviews the detailed new report by the Rwandan government that says the French military trained the murderous Interahamwe militia, key to the country’s 1994 genocide. [Transcripts & A/V] Also covered in the South Korea report are fascinating new details about the massacre of leftists by the U.S.-backed Syngman Rhee dictatorship in 1950.

My wonder is not about these supposedly new revelations, but rather about the backward state of knowledge and enlightenment among the people, which is supposed to come with the French and American democracies, about the evil their governments commit in their names and with their tax-payer money!
No Wonder that in the eyes of the majority of the people of third world countries Western democracies are synonymous with murder, exploitation and pure evil!

The U.S. military “killed large numbers of civilians?” In Korea? In Vietnam? In any damn where the U.S. military happens to be? In Afghanistan? In Iraq? Nah, this is some sort of subterfuge no doubt. The U.S. military would NEVER do anything so ‘war criminalish’ now would they? Hmmm, Prisoner 650 seems to have cropped up to the surface of late. About one million five dead innocent Iraqi men, women, and children. Hmmm, can we all say firebombing of Dresden? Hiroshima? Nagasaki? Yup, seems there’s a well established pattern of war crimes against humanity. Golly, maybe we should ask Amerika’s war hero John InSane. You know, that Senator chump running for some silly office or something like that. Hey, what’s happened to the mini-Mac? You know, Sen. Joe the demagogue.
